Kerryon or Sony?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I thought the two were probably close prior to KJ's injury. Now, give me Michel pretty easily.

I have KJ > Sony even with injury, not a Sony truther - especially if rebuilding and in a PPR.

Before the injury I would say Kerryon, now lean toward Sony. Patriots know and acknowledged after the Browns game that their Running game has been bad thus far and need to improve upfront, so I could see Sony having a much better second half

Just curious, but why? Michel's knock has been his bad knees, but he's yet to miss a game in his career. Whereas KJ has continued to struggle with injuries in college and the NFL and has his own knee issues. And it's not like he was tearing it up prior to his injury. He was averaging 3.3 ypc, which is pretty much identical to Michel. As for ppr, KJ had 9 catches in the 6.5 games he played this year...I don't think that should make a difference.

This is how I had it. I have a contender blowing up my phone for him. Current offer is Kerryon/Ty Johnson/3rd for my Sony.

Because I see them as virtually identical (and equally marginal) as runners, both with similar knee concerns, but much prefer KJ's situation as clear lead dog vs Pats perennial nightmare RB carousel, and KJ has MUCH better pass catching potential - so easily KJ for me in PPR setup. Sony had just 11 targets in 13 games in 2018, and 9 targets in 8 games thus far in 2019. KJ had 39 targets in just 10 games in 2018, and 9 targets in 5.25 games in 2019. If both average 3.3 yards, give me the guy who will catch 3-4 balls a game vs nothing.

But he's not catching 3-4 balls per game. And even with the better situation, wasn't outproducing Michel. I think Michel is more talented and probably less of an injury risk at this point. I also think the Pats stick with Michel in his current role longer than the Lions have KJ as their starter.

Sorry, I should have said "give me the guy who HAS A CHANCE of catching 3-4 balls a game." And KJ has quite clearly outproduced Michel so far, KJ averaged 13.82 ppg in his 5 games this season (I dropped the .25 game when he got injured early), and Michel is averaging 11.53 ppg this season. I'd say over 2 points per game is definitely outproducing. And going back to last season, KJ averaged 16.24 ppg while Sony averaged just 11.7 ppg. Huge difference in production thus far in their careers.

Edit: the above totals are in a full PPR league with 3 point bonus at 100 yards rushing/receiving.

I think they are pretty much equal, but I would lean Kerryon based on him being a full 2 years younger than Sony, and a higher ceiling in terms of workload/situation in Detroit. The last 3 full games Kerryon played this year, he got at least 70% of the snaps in each of them. Michel has only been over 50% once this year and it was 51%. I'll take a lesser RB getting a clear majority of the snaps over a guy barely getting over half when that guy isn't a special talent.
14 team dynasty, 25 man roster, keep 14, .5 PPR
QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, 2Flex, D/ST, K, DL, LB, DE
QB: Ryan, Mayfield
RB: Barkley, Kerryon Johnson, Gus Edwards, Pollard, Brian Hill
WR: OBJ, Mike Evans, Juju, Cooks, Corey Davis, Dede Westbrook, Fitz
TE: Njoku, Jonnu
K: Slye
D/ST: Titans, Eagles
DL: Heyward
LB: Littleton
DB: Bell
