10-team RSO 2QB league, 42-man roster, half PPR, 0.10 pt per yard...

My team is 6-1, with the 3rd highest points scored in the league, so I'm definitely a contender. I lost last week because Mahomes, Kerryon Johnson, and Thielen left their games early, and I got Rodgers'ed...

I have one extension I can use each offseason. Next year, I'm extending Mahomes, so I can't plan on tagging one of these players this year, and extending the same player next year. I'm budgeting a 5% increase in salary cap for next year ($197.61 mill), and I have $77 mill in cap space. I can also Franchise Tag one player for the average of the Top 5 players.

This year, my main options are:

Beckham, WR, Extension: 4 yr / $136 mill (APY: $34.0 mill), Franchise Tag: $36.96 mill. Already #1 paid WR in league, so his Franchise is 120% of 2019 salary.

Henry, TE, Extension: 4 yr / $28 mill (APY: $7.0 mill), Franchise Tag: $4.67 mill. Extension would make Henry the #1 paid TE.

And I can't shake the thought of It'll be a big mistake to let Will Dissly or Chris Herndon leave via Free Agency, but we only start 1 TE, so extending and franchising 2 TEs would waste resources at these costs.

Dissly, TE, Extension: 4 yr / $17.5 mill (APY: $4.375 mill), Franchise Tag: $4.67 mill.

Herndon, TE, Extension: 4 yr / $8 mill (APY: $2.00 mill), Franchise Tag: $2.00 mill.

I would appreciate any thoughts you have on this matter.

I'd wait until closer in the offseason to make this decision. A lot can happen before then.

I would also wait, but if I had to choose now, i would pay Goff (now that Cam is on his final year) then I would tag Beckham, i guess maybe he wont pay off to that amount of money you will have tied up in his contract.

How does it work with FA that didnt get a new contract or a tag ?

I've already activated Goff's 5th year option that's available for 1st round draft picks, so he's already locked up for 2020. Extensions can be used between week 5 and week 13, but the player's request changes based off the player's current contract and how the player has performed recently. Because of this, I don't expect anyone's extension to be less than it is right now, except for Dissly.

Players who are not tagged or extended get returned the to Free Agent pool, where we have an online auction until all roster spots are full. Everyone has a limited number of multi year contracts to use at the auction, and the highest guaranteed money wins the auction. RSO has an interesting algorithm for calculating guaranteed money based off the contract length and value.
