Difference between CMC and several WR 1's

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Difference between CMC and several WR 1's

Postby Hankybro21 » Tue Oct 22, 2019 12:01 pm

Trying to make a fairly large splash for Team 1. Haven't opened up talks yet with CMC owner but am strongly considering it.

What's the difference between CMC and the following receivers, and on which side

Davante
Nuk
Evans
Godwin
MT
Team 1
Q: Allen, Lamar
W: Devonta, Nuk, Godwin, Adams, Diontae, MT, Bateman, Toney, Osborn
R: JT, Henry, Ekeler, Gibbs, Mattison, Ford
T: Kelce

Team 2
Q: Allen, Mahomes, ARich
W: Jefferson, AJB, Tyreek, GW, Ridley, Godwin, MT, Downs, Toney
R: JT, CMC, Barkley, Breece, J. Cook, Kamara
T: Kelce, Hock
2024: 1.02, 1.04, Pick 21
2025: 1st (early)

Team 3
Q: Lamar, Herbert, Goff, Geno
W: Chase, AJB, Waddle, Pittman, Ridley, MT, Terrace Marshall, Downs
R: CMC, Ekeler, Bijan, Barkley, JT, Kamara, Tucker
T: Andrews, Granson
2024: 1.03, 3rd (late)

Team 4
Q: Mahomes, Allen, Geno
W: Tyreek, Lamb, Ridley, Pittman, Diontae, MT
R: CMC, Henry, JT, Chubb, Dobbins, Tucker
T: Kelce, Gesicki, Kittle

Adams, Hokins, Thomas - should all be a pretty even trade for CMC. I'm guessing the CMC owner may want more based on point totals, but I would not add anything.

Evans or Godwin - the owner would likely want a 1st on top

Well I was told by the CMC owner that both CMC and Barkley are more valuable than any one WR in football. Basically he hinted that it would take a combination of a Aaron Jones+Hopkins or more...

Interesting. I wonder if this is the norm with CMC valuations. I can see giving Nuk or Adams straight up, or with a small piece added, but adding a significant amount wouldn't make sense.

I agree with the CMC owner. Would need one of your WRs plus. People love having superstar RBs on their teams. You have to overpay to get them.

I also agree with the CMC owner. RB production is harder to find than WR production. Elite RB production is almost impossible to replace.

I own a couple CMC shares, and while it might just be silly of me, I probably wouldnt even accept Hopkins+ Aaron Jones for him.

Going after a guy like CMC right now doesnt make a lot of sense for most teams. I legitimately have him over Barkley right now.

I wish people in my league were this foolish, but the CMC and Barkley owners are both fantasy vets. We do have some morons though but not surprisingly they don't have shares in guys like that.

Can we stop using the word “overpay”?

Its not an overpay if that is what it takes to buy. That is simply the price.

CMC gives such a massive ppg advantage. For me, any of those WRs is not close. Would absolutely need another significant piece on top.

The goal is to score points. CMC does that much better than any WR in the league. CMC and Barkley are in a clear tier by themselves.

CMC is the best asset in dynasty right now IMO. And elite RB's are worth even more in a ten-team league. I would need a lot to move him right now.

Liking that people are finally realizing that even in ppr, RBs are king. I have the best WRs in the league hands down, and good rbs, but never won a title thanks to 40 and 50 pt games by RBs (granted last year was Amari scoring a billion). Having CMC is +10 ppg to your roster than average, get a Barkley to go with him, you are scoring 20-30 ppg higher than the average team.
