Give up the farm for McCaffery : Counter

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Give up the farm for McCaffery : Counter

Postby zoster80 » Tue Oct 15, 2019 5:21 pm

PLP, my rebuild which is rising fast...I’m thinking of making a move for McC.

The owner wants “retool” and get depth. We are in the ballpark of

Godwin + Sony + mid to late 2020 1st + another mid round pick we are negotiating for

McC.

Is this too much to give up? I will have a young core of WRs to build around McC and still have one first and high 2nd next year as well as two 2021 1sts.

You have to over pay for studs, but this too much right?

I guess the gap between Godwin and McC is at least a first. What is the reason for the trade, are you stacked at WR and thin at RB?

Would it worth it send that much for him? Considering my team makeup. I’m not a contender by any means, but this will balance out my team. Should I hold off on taking big shot like this until I’m closer to competing?

If not contending I wouldn’t do that or try and acquire any elite RB (unless you get them cheap of course) until you’re ready to contend/that rb allows you to contend. Rb shelf life too risky for me personally to invest that much into when not ready to contend.

Risky if you are not competing for a possible couple years. Running backs have a shorter shelf life. Tough call. I would lean to hold what you have currently.

Agree to hold if not competing.

Agree with this. You don't look ready to meaningfully compete for the next couple years at least, and CMC is an all-in move for a team looking to win it all in the next 1-3 years; that's not you. Also, Godwin is looking like a monster down there. Pass (for you)

That's a good price for him. Even if you don't compete next year, you should be able to move him for something similar (but he's also young enough that you can build around him and hold him during a rebuild).

This deal got revived a bit...one of my 1sts which from a contender has become more valuable now that he lost 3 straight and is in danger of missing the playoffs.

The deal is not fully on the table because he still wants to work Godwin into the deal, but if he agrees to this I should take this regardless of the great class next year right?

I would send
Two 2020 1st probably top 6 and we have lottery so both could possibly be top 3 + 2021 1st( the higher of the two that I own)
For McCaffery

Yep. If you can add the number one dynasty asset for nothing but picks and still keep Godwin, do that in a heartbeat. Hell, I wouldn’t hesitate to throw Sony in too if that gets it done before he comes to his senses.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0
