Trading for AJ Green

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading for AJ Green

Postby dlf4lyfe » Mon Oct 07, 2019 8:54 am

I'm sitting in pole position at 4-1 after this week. I am eying AJ Green on a team that just moved to 1-4 and has a poor outlook. I am thinking about offering up my (late) 2020 1st for AJ Green & possibly his 3rd. It's a bit of a risk considering we don't know when AJ Green will be back, but he would be a nice addition to the squad when I am making a final push for the playoffs. What do you guys think?

I'd expect any rebuild owner to jump on that offer, but I think that's a bit much to pay for a 31 year old WR who hasn't really been elite for years and has been dealing with a lot of injuries (so retirement risk is high).

E: I'd bet any rebuild is waiting until AJG comes back to sell, so it might be tough to buy for less than a 1st, but I just don't think he's worth that right now. Once we see he's healthy and plays a game or two and does well maybe, but for now I don't think I'd pay more than early-mid 2nd, and then only if I had a tangible need at WR and felt he would help me win a ship.

If we knew he was coming back next week, I might be willing to pay that for him. Right now, I'd rather keep the 1st or go after someone else.

Im competing this year and I would sell my AJG for a first. I agree its too much to pay at this stage of his career.

I think that would make sense. I'd probably open asking for AJG + 2nd, or Guice + 3rd for AJG + 2nd.
