Hey all,
I'm a potential contender in one of my leagues, but I have a glaring hole at TE. One of my leaguemates just offered me this deal:
Give:
Mark Ingram
Get:
Darren Waller
Thoughts on this trade? My team/league details are listed below. I like Ingram this year a lot and losing him would hurt my RB2 spot, but I think Shady and Gore will essentially fill that same role as productive vets with limited shelf lives. but he is about to turn 30 soon and has a lot of tread on his tires. Waller is still a bit of an unknown but some on this forum are already calling him a Top 5 TE and I can see the logic behind that.
12 teams, 0.5 PPR, start 1QB/2RB/3WR/FLEX/TE
Rodgers, Carr
DJ, Ingram, Shady, J. White, Gore, AP, J. Williams, I. Smith
Nuk, Keenan, Tyreek, Hilton, DJ Moore, C. Beasley, K. Cole, D. Johnson
J. Graham, T. Eifert, B. Watson, D. Knox
Ingram for Waller
Re: Ingram for Waller
Losing Ingram definitely hurts your RB depth, but I'm not very high on him in dynasty and like Waller. I'd probably make this trade, but I'd also then look to upgrade at RB by moving one of your WRs (might be able to get something good for Moore, who you're probably not starting after Hill and Hilton come back).

Re: Ingram for Waller
I like the deal as well despite what it does to your RB depth. Waller is a huge upgrade at TE for you. Can you get a pick added coming back?
Re: Ingram for Waller
Waller is a big upgrade for you. Ingram is a aging rb. I think with your other rbs you can play matchups or package a J White and DJ for a rb 2 upgrade.

Re: Ingram for Waller
Agree with most of the above - seems like a steep price to pay because Ingram has been great this year, but he is aging. Waller isn't as young as most think but still I'd make the deal, and maybe see if I could squeeze a little more value as someone else suggested.
Re: Ingram for Waller
I've seen Waller's age come up a few times, but 27 isn't really that old for a TE. It reminds me of Delanie Walker, who spent his first 7 years in the league in San Francisco and was known more for dropping balls than being anything close to fantasy relevant. At age 29 (2 years older than Waller is now), signed with Tennessee and has been a pretty good TE since. I can see Waller playing a very high level for another 5+ years.
Re: Ingram for Waller
Thanks guys - Waller seems like a tough guy to value at this point. I sent a counter of my Ingram/2020 3rd for his Waller/2020 2nd, and the dude got butthurt that I was trying to "fleece him" so he called off the trade
What a douche. Any other TE targets you guys think would be good value in return for Ingram? I was thinking of going after OJ Howard or maybe Njoku?
