Rank Moore/Kupp/Ridley

Postby akpipeline23 » Tue Oct 01, 2019 9:03 am

I have Kupp now, but am trying to get younger since I'm not competing - would you do a deal straight up for Moore or Ridley? The consensus dynasty rankings have it Moore>Ridley>Kupp, but reading these forums it seems like people prefer Kupp.

Kupp

Moore/Ridley

No reason to move Kupp straight up for either wr in my opinion. Kupp is a beast and is not old by any means. He has picked up at a legit top 10 pace which is where he was pre-injury last year.

If you're looking to get younger, I might move Kupp for Moore, but I'd still want something small added on top. I wouldn't really target Ridley since he's only 1.5 years younger.

This is so strange to me - I think just about all expert rankings have Kupp behind Moore/Ridley. Why is there such a difference between those and community opinions? Are the rankings just lagging behind perception based on recent production?

I have no idea what rankings you are looking at. Experts have Kupp ahead of Moore/Ridley, who are both pretty equal. I personally prefer Moore, but if you are going to move Kupp, you should be getting something on top of Moore.

likely the ranks you are looking at have not been updated. preseason there was concern over kupp rebounding from injury and playing in a crowded offense with goff having fallen apart late last season. the time to worry about getting younger is with your players age 28 or 29 and older. moving a fringe wr1 who is in his 3rd season purely to get younger is not advised.

Dynasty rankings tend to have a bit of a lag even if they've been updated recently (which they probably have not been). If you click on "Pick Experts" at fantasy pros and only select the rankings that have been updated since 9/27 you will see Kupp ranked above Moore and Ridley (although he's still pretty underrated at WR15 imo). Kupp's ranking was dragged down heading into the season because people wanted to see him post-ACL. Well...he's WR2 so far in PPR formats (128/1,552/12 pace), and has averaged 21.3 points in his last 10 full games dating back to the start of last season (107/1460/14 pace). Tack on the last 6 games of his rookie season (including the playoff game) for a full 16 game sample and that gives you 99/1372/12, or 308.2 fantasy points.

So...Kupp.
