Superflex Trade: Aaron Rodgers + for Beckham +

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side would you prefer in superflex?

Superflex Trade: Aaron Rodgers + for Beckham +

Postby Eight7Seven » Thu Sep 26, 2019 10:29 am

TLDR version
What do you think of Odell Beckham Jr & Antonio Brown for Aaron Rodgers, Devante Parker & a 2020 second in superflex.

Long version.
This is a counter to an offer I made in team one of my signature. I’m doing very well in this league, but I don’t have a number one receiver. I recently picked up Kirk Cousins (no idea why he was dropped as next highest scoring QB’s are Eli Manning and Taysom Hill) and with Daniel Jones now starting think I can do fine by playing the two of them based off of matchup in my superflex. I sent out six trades with Rodgers for WR1’s, some straight up and other in packages.

Most of the offers went were declined without comment. The Hopkins owner said he was busy and would counter in a few days (but with the impression that he’d want more than just Rodgers), the Cooper owner said it was the worst offer he’d seen in years (I offered Rodgers & Greg Olsen for Cooper, OJ Howard and his 2020 first). There is not a big market for Rodgers at the moment at least in my league.

It's probably the worst time to try and trade away Rodgers. There's a fair number of owners that have soured on Rodgers as in he's a top 10 QB anymore or are looking to bench him for Daniel Jones. Here's a thread regarding different views on Rodgers.

If you want to move him wait until he has a big game (it very well could be tonight with the Iggles D) and then throw some of these offers out there.

In a SF, I think I'd still take Rodgers and a 2nd over OBJ, but it's close and would depend on rosters.

This is basically Rodgers and a 2020 2nd for OBJ. In a SF, I'm taking Rodgers and the pick.

How does Cousins get dropped in a SF league?!?

I'm really glad I made this post as I was leaning heavily towards accepting the trade. I am shocked that Antonio Brown seems to be considered a throw away player, as I expect him to play again this season.

Part of my thinking is that I have been winning without Rodgers these past three weeks (I mean technically I've started him every week, but players on my bench have been out scoring him). So why not use him to improve my biggest area of weakness. I believe in both Jones and Lock long-term so with the new addition of Cousins to bridge the gap I think I can do better with transferring Rodgers' value to another area of my team.
