Lamar's value in draft picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Lamar's value in draft picks

Postby dcr1984 » Wed Sep 18, 2019 11:57 am

For Team 1:

What is Lamar Jackson's worth in future draft picks? I was offered the following:

Give:
Brady, (probably 6th-8ish) 2020 first, 2021 first

Get:
Lamar Jackson

We have a unique efficiency and rushing yardage heavy scoring system. Lamar Jackson is the #1 overall QB and #1 overall player so far - about 5% more points than Mahomes and Dak, about 35% more points than QB #4 Tom Brady and about 40% more points than the top RB (Cook).

I'd still have a likely top 3 2020 first coming to me. Worth it after losing Luck, or stick with Brady and the picks?
Team 1: (20 man rosters)
10 team, negative 0.1 pt per pass, rush, reception. (1 QB / 2 RB / 3 WR / 1 TE / 1 K / 1 DEF)

QB: Jackson, Geno
RB: McCaffrey, Mixon, Ekeler, Foreman, Patterson
WR: Hill, Wilson, Deebo, Allen, Jeudy, Meyers, Zay Jones, OBJ
TE: Hockenson
K: Dicker
Def: SF, Phi, Dallas

2023: 1.07

Team 2: (18 man rosters)
10 team, 0.5 PPR, 6 pt passing TD (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 WR/RB, 1 TE, K, Def)

Qb: Jackson, Cousins, Lance
RB: Taylor, Fournette, Gibson, Patterson, Gaskin, Elijah Mitchell
WR: Jefferson, AJ Brown, DJM, Lamb, Rondale Moore
TE: Kelce
Def: Cin

Team 3:
12 Team PPR SF/1.5 TE Premium (QB-2RB-3WR-2RB/WR/TE flex, 1 superflex)
QB: Jackson, Prescott, Lawrence
RB: Taylor, Swift, Henry, Hall, Patterson, Wilson, Burkhead, Ingram
WR: Adams, Lamb, A-Rob, JuJu, Calloway, Berrios,
TE: Kittle, Gesicki, Gronk, McBride, Hurst, Jonnu
2023: 2nd, 2nd
2024: 3,4

No way I'd pay Brady + two 1sts for Jackson in a 1QB format. Let's keep in mind that so far BAL has played against MIA and ARI, both of which are bottom-5 NFL defenses. BAL does have a fairly easy schedule overall this year, but this is a big overpay for Jackson.
Kittles Pox | Championships: 2015, 2017
12-Team PPR | QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, W/R/T, K, DST
QB: Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers
RB: Christian McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon, James Conner, Phillip Lindsay, Tevin Coleman, Boston Scott, Benny Snell Jr.
WR: Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Michael Gallup, Christian Kirk
TE: George Kittle, Travis Kelce | K: Younghoe Koo | DST: SF
PS: Mecole Hardman, Tony Pollard | 2020 Picks: 1.09, 2.10, 3.03 | 2021 Picks: 1st, 2nd

x2. Jackson's rushing stats keeps him in a higher category then most qb's, but that is a lot to give up. If you could take the 2020 1st out, I could seeing paying that.

Agree with the two above, seems very steep even with your scoring.

Yeah my initial offer was just the later 2020 first which seems about right, but that got outright rejected. How about if I can get him to throw in a 2020 2nd? Probably not the time to trade for Lamar after he played Miami and Ariz I guess.
