Ian Thomas or Chris Herndon?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Ian Thomas or Chris Herndon?

Postby esulek80 » Wed Sep 04, 2019 6:40 pm

A guy in my dynasty league dropped Chris Herndon during roster cuts after our rookie draft. Granted he has a 4 game suspension but would you drop Ian Thomas to pick him up or just stand pat? My other option could be to drop Isabella and add him as I'm really solid at the WR position. Based on my roster below what would you do?

My team is as follows:

QB: Mahomes, Wentz, Bridgewater
RB: Carson, Hunt, Drake, Ballage, Samuels, D Harris, J Hill
WR: Julio, Juju, Evans, Cooper, Sutton, M Brown, Isabella
TE: Hockenson, Njoku, I Thomas
K: Bailey,
D: Jacksonville, Dallas
2017 - Champions!
2018 - Champions!!
2021 - Champions!!!

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, and 1 DST – 12 team .5 PPR league – 24 man active roster + 2 IR

Roster:
QB: Mahomes, Stroud
RB: Bijan, Javonte Williams, James Cook, Charbonnet, Brian Robinson, Kyren Williams, Dobbins, Keaton Mitchell, Israel Abanikanda
WR: Chase, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Higgins, Diontae Johnson, Dotson, Marquise Brown, Quentin Johnston, Sutton
TE: Hockenson, Freiermuth, Ferguson
K: Aubrey
D: Pittsburgh, Denver

Draft Picks:
2024: 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th
2025: 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th
2026: 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th

I would not drop Isabella as he has trade value. It really depends on your target. Herndon though suspended 4 games has upside for this year as he will be on the field as their top TE option. Ian Thomas will be 2nd fiddle to Greg Olsen (until Olsen reinjures his foot). If Olsen manages to stay healthy the hope would be he retires and leaves the job to Thomas.

I would hold where you are right now. You have no get drop options and I think Thomas's time comes sooner rather then later.

Big Herdon fan here, would also agree with the above comments drop Teddy. Ian Thomas could be a solid option in the future so Id keep.

I'd take Herndon over Thomas, but agree with dropping Bridgewater.
