Allen Robinson Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Allen Robinson Trade

Postby McCafsteez » Fri Aug 30, 2019 5:31 am

Would you trade Allen Robinson for a 2020 1st (my first back) 2020 2nd and a 2020 3rd?

Team 1 in sig. i am a contender. I paid 2019 1.06 for Allen robinson this off-season.

Would probably want a stash player back on this trade.

I think the value is pretty good, but in your situation I'd hold A-rob as a depth piece.

It would hurt your depth, but I would make that deal. Solid value.

I would take that for ARob and look to buy a decent WR4 with the 2nd rounder you just acquired to fill out your WR depth.

I'm not sure this is actually that good of return on investment. You spent the 1.06 to get him, and I'm assuming you are hoping to do well and get far in the payoffs so if that works out the 1st will be a higher pick. So then you will have traded the 1.06 for say the 1.10-1.12 next year plus a 2nd and 3rd. So it's basically a break even. The only way you win that trade is if your team does middle of the road or worse. I also think the trade hurts your depth and ability to win this year, however if you can get DeSean Jackson or someone like that for the 2020 3rd I would give it a shot.

I would try to hold into the season to retain the depth and look to possibly move once you get a better picture of your teams direction. I think it's descent return.

In most years I think people would agree with your assessment. But I think many in the dynasty community feel that a late 2020 1st alone is more valuable than 1.06 in this years draft. Whether that works out or not remains to be seen, but it seems like the 2020 hype is running rampant, and has been for awhile now.

I get it, but that hype happens every single year, every year, next years draft is going to be amaze balls.

Thank you everyone for the input. It is a tough call because the return on investment seems a little shaky as some of you mentioned. (The positioning of my 2020 first and lacking depth)

What if he took out the 2020 3rd and threw in a depth WR?

His WR I think would replace the 2020 3rd nicely include the following:

Hamilton
Kirk (Which I don't think he would do)
Watkins
Couee
Chark
Washington

So I would counter with Robinson for 2020 1st, 2020 2nd and one of the guys above.

Thoughts?

I definitely would take a first for him. I don't value him like a vast majority out there.
Team 1:
PPR--QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, Superflex, Flex x2
QBs: Lawrence, Stafford, Geno, Hooker, Rush
RBs: Ekeler, Kamara, Achane, Elijah Mitchell, Dillon, Kelley, Moss, Jamaal Williams
WRs: Adams, Hopkins, Waddle, Kirk, JSN, Boyd, OBJ, Hyatt
TEs: Kelce, Hockenson, Taysom, Irv Smith

and then a few minor players and rookie stashed on taxi

If he is going to add Coutee or Watkins to the deal I would do it for sure. Washington would be my third. choice but I would still pull the trigger. As far as the 2020 hype goes you can see how Jonathan Taylor’s night was.

Just to be clear I’m not saying I wouldn’t take the deal I’m just saying the deal is a wash. If you can flip the 3rd for a vet to get more depth I say go for it.
