Too much for Mahomes?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Too much for Mahomes?

Postby Finfansteve » Mon Aug 19, 2019 9:23 am

Was talking to the Mahomes owner and he said he wouldn’t be adverse to trading him and mentioned that mayfield and 1.01 might be enough to get Mahomes. I’m not normally one who gets crazy at quarterback I usually just draft a vet who’s been thrown back into the draft pool and go from there because my rbs, wrs, and Te are usually strong enough to carry me I just need to break even at quarterback to compete on a weekly basis but I have to admit this one comment got me thinking enough to put it up on the advice board to see what you guys thought.
Besides mayfield here is the rest of my keepers:

Saquon
Chubb
Tyreek
MT
Julio
Juju
Kittle
Engram

Our draft consists of rookies and vets that are thrown back into the pot.

Is Mayfield and 1.01 too much to pay for Mahomes? Any opinions would be great! Thanks👍

Unless this is a SF/2QB league, that's an easy pass.

No super flex. I forgot to put that in the initial post. Start one qb

Ludicrous ask in 1QB. Just move on. You'll be fine with Mayfield.

Agreed, that's too much. Mahomes will likely outscore him, but I would think Baker is close to putting up 4k and 35+tds...probably not a difference of 1.01 for Mahomes.

Way too much in 1 QB. Also, that roster is ridiculous, with the only possible weakness I see being RB depth. Use the 1.01 on an RB (Jacobs presumably unless there is some vet worth more) and enjoy being the championship favorite.

Thanks guys. My instincts told me that was probably too much for Mahomes but figured I’d better put it out here to confirm that feeling.
What if he would do Mayfield and someone I’m going to cut anyhow like Anthony Miller or Tarik Cohen for Mahomes? Would you do it or is Mahomes just not that great of an improvement over mayfield to even bother?

Even SF it's too much, 1QB it's completely over the top. Mahomes is the clear #1 QB asset, but he's not going to put up 5,000/50 every year, or probably ever again. Mayfield is going be very good in his own right and won't be shocked if he ended up as the QB1 in scoring this year himself.
