This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

DJ trade offer

Postby TroyH » Mon Aug 12, 2019 6:00 am

I posted a similar trade a while back that involved Sony though.

Send: DJ
Receive: 1.01 (Jacobs) and a 2020 1st

His team:
QB: Jimmy G, Big Ben, Brees
RB: Chubb, Sony, Mack, Howard, McKinnon, AP
WR: Julio, Shepard, M. Jones, R. Cobb, T. Gabriel
TE: Njoku, J Cook

The owner recently sent me this offer. I really like Jacobs and think he is going to produce at a level close to what DJ did last year. Should I take it or hold what I have?
10-Team League, Non-PPR (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, WR/RB/TE)
QB: Love, Watson, Cousins
RB: JT, Kyren, BRob, Roschon, Miles
WR: AJB, Wilson, Waddle, Puka, Higgins, Hopkins, Jeudy, Jameson Williams
TE: Okonkwo, Thomas
2024: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 5th

Seems like a fair offer. If you really like Jacobs then it makes sense.

I like the offer. It won't be a high 1st and you should still be one of the favorites although not the favorite which you may be with DJ.

If you are trying to move Johnson, the offer is not bad with Jacobs getting an immediate workload. I would push for more.

The value is good, but your team seems like a strong contender in non-PPR with three very good RBs. Why sell Johnson, especially with the uncertainty of Zeke's holdout looming?

12-Team PPR | QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, W/R/T, K, DST
QB: Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers
RB: Christian McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon, James Conner, Phillip Lindsay, Tevin Coleman, Boston Scott, Benny Snell Jr.
WR: Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Michael Gallup, Christian Kirk
TE: George Kittle, Travis Kelce | K: Younghoe Koo | DST: SF
PS: Mecole Hardman, Tony Pollard | 2020 Picks: 1.09, 2.10, 3.03 | 2021 Picks: 1st, 2nd

I agree its not ideal to move DJ right now with the Zeke situation. But I don't trust the Cardinals offensive line and I am starting to think DJ will never produce as a top 5 RB again, so I'm wanting to move him while he still holds the high end value. I think Jacobs could easily crack the top 10 this year due to his overall workload, if he can handle it that is, so I feel like this is the cheapest he will be going forward.

If that's the case, then take Jacobs + 2020 1st. Personally, I'm of the opinion that Murray and Kingsbury are going to be fantasy magic. I think Johnson's volume, especially in the passing game, is going to make him a top-5 RB in PPR this year.
