Just traded into the first round, need some help catching up

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Just traded into the first round, need some help catching up

Postby mn48 » Fri Aug 09, 2019 9:16 pm

Coming off a championship and having already traded my 1st before last season started, I have done exactly zero research into the guys at the top of this draft aside from my general knowledge of them as prospects outside of fantasy. I just traded for 1.04, and with my draft in less than 24 hours I am scrambling to get up to speed.

It is well known that Jacobs is going first and Montgomery is going second. Rumor has it that Sanders is going to go third but he's not completely set yet. As you can see I would love to grab a RB as I have zero depth behind CMC and Mixon, but if Sanders goes I feel I have to go receiver, that next tier of RBs is not on the same level as the top WRs IMO.

Harry is the consensus guy to go here but i'm not sold on him. Seems like a jump-ball kind of guy who doesn't provide the sort of value you're looking for at the top of the draft with Brady's year to year game of whether he will keep playing. Loved AJ Brown before the draft, think he's the best WR in the class, but man he could not have gone to a worse spot. Zero faith in Mariota and that WR room is already so crowded. Moving down might be my best option but i'm just not sure. Who would you guys be targeting here? Is Harry the easy pick?

I would take Harry here or trade out. Brown could be a great long term pick but, I agree Mariota is terrible in the short term. If Tennessee resigns him...not good.

Man so disappointing too. I was a big Mariota believer but he has been such a disappointment. Shame that Brown's talent is gonna be stuck in purgatory there for a few years. Definitely gonna shop it a little during the draft and see if anyone is a big Harry guy and surprised to see him at 4, but i'm not too hopeful about that. Really just gonna try and sell myself on Harry

As a Corey Davis owner, I'm real over Mariota. Tough landing spot for one of the best wr's in the class this year. I think Harry has question marks but is a real solid value at #4. If you could somehow land a couple 1sts in 2020 for the pick, I would jump all over it.

I would agree w/ your take. I’d work pretty hard to move down, although, it might be worth it to see what it would take to move up & grab the RB you need.

Wasn't targeting 1.04, I was offered Ridley, 1.04, and 2.10 for AB. Took it about 30 minutes before the helmet news dropped. Figured whoever I got at 1.04, even without a target in mind, along with Ridley is worth it to get off MBC's wild ride.

1.01 and 1.02 are not listening to offers, locked into JJ and DMont respectively. I am not a Sanders believer and don't want to give up what would be needed to grab him at 3 especially when I can just take Harry who I don't love but like a hell of a lot more than Sanders.

I’d agree with this. Probably the best return anyone could want for AB at this point tbh.
For me it’d be sanders or Harry whichever is there. But if you don’t like either I’d try and move back a couple spots.

Yeah I initially decided not to move him at the beginning of the offseason but he had just become too much to deal with. He helped win me a title and that was great but i'll take the step back for one season in order to get what I can. Was pretty happy with the offer, getting two early picks on top of a guy who I feel has one of the highest ceilings in the league as a younger wideout makes me feel good with it.

I don’t blame I don’t own b anywhere but where I own Ridley I’d have to think about a straight swap hard because of that laundry list of concerns with AB

I’m not really sold on the backs in this class. Harry at 1.04 seems like great value.

If the three RBs are gone you for Harry.

Now if you want one of the rbs I think you see what it takes to move from 1.04 to any of the top 3 picks. It may be less than you think.

You’re overthinking this, either trade out or take Harry, he’ll be a stud longer than any of the backs in this years class.
