i'd keep preston and see what you've got. he's showing out, he's getting rave reviews, he has the build and the situation for production, he has pedigree (plus a checkered past, which is the only risk you're taking). i'd hang on to the bird in the hand than the third in the bush

I believe in the talent but UDFA WRs just rarely get a real opportunity I am torn but leaning the pick

Right, but not for the Dolphins in a game-like situation. I'd been following the video clips and hype from camp closely but I'll admit I was little skeptical until I saw it in game-like action.

So y'all are suggesting he trade Preston Williams for a younger less experienced Preston Williams a year from now?

trading preston williams for something you hope turns into preston williams seems silly, and yet, he wasn't a 3rd round pick in a worse class this year so..idk

...but playing Devil's advocate. How many undrafted players went in the 3rd round of rookie drafts? I own him in two leagues as an end of bench stash. Swapping a 3 doesn't seem worth it. He seems like the perfect receiver to let sit at the end of your bench for a year. If he doesn't pan out, it costs you nothing. I think he'll see playing time this year, as they're re-building for the future and will want to see what they have in their young guys.

not sure that's the right question, the right question is how many of these guys would you *today* rather have preston williams

I just picked up Preston for $66 (budget of $1,000) on the WW. He was a 5 star HS recruit that made some poor choices in college. He balled out at CSU once he got some actual playing time. I am high on him for future year production in a young Dolphin's offence.

Early 2020 2nd is a great return. That's not in the same stratosphere as a random 3rd in my mind. If that turns into the first pick in the 2nd round, and your drafting early you can get a really nice player that hasn't ruined his value with flashy camp play.

Hold out for a 2nd rounder. You likely picked him up for nothing. It is worth gambling on being able to sell high after another solid preseason outing.

Have to always be skeptical or udfa getting talked up in preseason .... So I dug deep and did my homework on him , everything clip I've watched during OTAs, camp , preseason , every article I've read about him , also the high praise he's getting from the dolphins DBs, this kid looks legit ! Get him while you can , I haven't been this excited about a rookie wr since I drafted MT

Go and watch his tape from Colorado State, kid looks like the real deal to me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBPPbOACgnY

Look at the things he does well; adjusting his body and making off-target catches, immediately turning upfield, breaking tackles, awesome body control and awareness along the edges, repeatedly timing his positioning and jump to box out the CB.

The NFL missed, and to be frank, the dynasty community missed on him too until the word was out. This is not your typical UDFA hype nonsense, those happen every year, this guy looks real. Get him on your team.
