Montgomery or D. Henry

Postby mgregoirec » Mon Aug 05, 2019 11:49 am

You have 1.02 this year and D. Henry is available.

Would you take him or Montgomery (or Jacobs if available but I doubt it).

Standard format, 12-team

Thanks!

I would probably take Henry if I was looking for production out of the gate but youth and long term value is easily on the Montgomery side.

Montgomery: better offensive line, better offense overall, better shot at a three-down role.

Also, people are weary of Henry's hype and disappointment. If Henry doesn't produce this year, his value plummets. If Montgomery doesn't produce this year, his value is somewhat insulated and will likely still be worth a 1st this time next year.

Good points here.

I think Montgomery can be a very good all around back. I don't think Henry can, so limited upside.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

henry. that team would have to be run by the most incompetent humans ever to alter the game plan from late last season. hes looking like a very high volume back. this monty potential 3 down back stuff is extremely puzzling to me as it shows a disregard for the existence of tarik cohen.

Agree that Henry has a huge make or break year ahead of him. I don't really love Montgomery, but it's a good place to reset the timer on your asset.

Standard = non-ppr?

Ditka is correct that Henry has less value insulation, so if you're looking for the safe long-term asset, it's Montgomery.
I think Henry has lead the league in rushing upside, so if you're looking for the home run this year I think it's more likely to be Henry, especially in non-ppr or 0.5ppr.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...
