This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Engram for Lindsay???

Postby OhSnapItsAnt » Wed Jul 31, 2019 10:50 pm

I’ve been trying to build my team with no luck... low balls on obj and Kittle and I can’t seem to get any bites on trying to get a RB.. even when I over bid..

Im not sure if I want to make this move but it seems to be the only move I could make and wanted to get your opinion. This guys is desperate for a TE.

Evan Engram for Philip Lindsay

Can I ask for a pick? Or is this fair straight up?
Team 1:
10 team SF, .5 ppr
1-QB 1-SF 3-WR 2-RB 1-TE 1-Flex
QB: Allen, Burrow, Goff, Aidan OConnel
RB: ETN, K Walker, Swift, D Pierce, Monty, Herbert, McLaughlin
WR: Deebo, AJB, Lamb, DJM, Dell, Higgins, Jeudy, E Moore, Michael Wilson, Tutu
TE: Kinkaid, Schultz, Njoku

I'd want Lindsay + early 2nd to sell Engram.

I'd keep the first round TE who's already had a good year and is poised for another one over the UDFA 190 LB RB who had a good rookie year, but a bad injury, and a new coaching staff that employs a system that suits there now healthy, 3rd round RB from a year ago. Lindsay will not duplicate that season again.

I would pass on the deal and keep Engram unless you get more coming back.

I might take it if a 2nd is added to Lindsay.

Why are you so certain Lindsay cannot replicate last season? Scarangello comes from the Shanahan coaching tree and employs a similar zone based running scheme. I'll have to do some digging to get you a source but I read earlier this offseason Lindsay posted 6.0+ ypc on outside zone runs and 5.0 ypc on inside zone runs last year. That's a recipe for success in Scarangello's offense. Hell, we saw a 5 foot 9 190 pound Matt Breida excel in this type of system last year.

In addition, Mike Munchak is the Broncos new offensive line coach. He was the steelers offensive line coach from 2014-1018 and their line has been one of the best during that time span. Lindsay easily outplayed Freeman last year and I'm not seeing much to argue against that this year.

Edit: to answer the thread's question, I'd agree with most saying a second is needed on Lindsay's side for Engram. Engram has been a stud TE when you account for the fact he's only played two seasons. He is easily in the next tier of TEs after Kelce and Ertz with Kittle in a tier of his own. I think Lindsay is a mid to late first kind of guy while Engram is a strong mid first player

I would definitely look for an add or a better RB and add something myself if needed.
