Crazy to take Kyler at 1.8?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Crazy to take Kyler at 1.8?

Postby repeatoffender115 » Wed Jul 17, 2019 1:28 pm

I'm not sure who can help my team more with the 1.8 pick. Pick 6 is on the clock and picks 1 through 5 were Jacobs/ Monty/ Harry/ Sanders/ Metcalf.
1.8 is the only pick I have, with no luck as of yet trying to trade down or out.
I have two firsts next year, and 1 2nd next year.

1 QB league, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex RB/WR/TE position

Brady/ Winston
DJ/ Henry/ Michel/ Lewis/ Edmunds/ CJA
OBJ/ AJG/ Cooper/ Fitz/ Sutton
Ertz/ Kittle

Not sure if I stay the course and just take best available player or try and get my QB of the future with a slight reach in the first.

I would add another WR to your core, maybe Campbell? Focus on RB's in next years class. I don't think Murray is worth the 1.08 in a 1 QB league.

I don't mind it at all. Whiffing on a 1st can really set you back and Kyler is as close to bust proof as this class offers.

I agree with this. Kyler went 1.06 in my 1QB league earlier this week and no one was really that surprised. If he's your guy, go for it.

Well, as it turns out Kyler went 1.6. Guy that had Luck and Mariota took him anyway. So I guess it's BPA for me.

I think I would hold off. Brady and Winston should be good for another year. Next year's QBs are supposed to be pretty good, I would worry about the position then.

And keep in mind Winston has Arians as a head coach now. He could have a career year.

Man, your league either really values QBs highly or just Murray.

Or that this draft is weak after the first few guys so why not take the one guy that has the best chance to be a 1 at his position.

I agree with this. Murray is one of the safest picks in a weak draft class. He also has great fantasy upside (think Russ, Cam, etc) which helps in any league, even 1 QB. The next safest picks at 1.8 are probably Hock and Fant if their available. Other than that, you're probably getting a WR3 (on his NFL team, more like WR6 on a fantasy team) or a 2nd/3rd string RB.

If you’re on the clock and don’t like anyone there see if you can trade the pick for a first round pick next year and a little extra either in this draft or player depth. There might be an owner that really likes someone that’s still on the board more than you do
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

Take advantage of the fact that league mates value QB's so highly in this format and snag as many RB's and WR's as you can in the 1st and 2nd rounds in the future.

If you were staying put and holding the 1.8......I would take Murray or Hockenson. The RB's and Wr's are mediocre and they are the current flavor of the month since that's all we get to choose from. As far as talent goes Murray can be the Offensive rookie of the year and Hock will get immediate playing time with huge upside in future years.

Try trading out, maybe offer your pick for penny or ROJO
12 team PPR
QB- Lamar, Burrow, Richardson

RB- McCaffrey, Chubb, Sanders, Dobbins, Brian Robinson, Roschon, Ford, Rodriguez
TE- Henry, Knox, Ferguson, Laporta, Darnell washington
K- Butker
DST- Steelers, eagles

2024 picks - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th

1QB, 2WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1 FLEX (WR/RB/TE), K, DST -------1 pt. - PPR
