Jacobs or Harry? Need WR help

Postby gbpckrs » Mon Jul 15, 2019 6:11 am

I have the 1.1 coming up in our rookie draft, should I go with Jacobs even though I'm pretty good at RB or should I go with Harry being I need WR help? Or should I try to trade the 1.1 for more picks?

Thanks in advance

The value is taking Jacobs. I don't believe in taking WR's with the 1.01 so I may not be the one to listen too. Jacobs is a point scorer straight out of the gate this season. I have seen lots of owners burned by taking a wide out with the 1.01. I do like Harry but not with the 1.01.

Ignore need in rookie drafts and take BPA, you can always trade later so you want to add the most valuable pieces you can. I love Harry and think he can be the best player in this class, but Jacobs is clearly the most valuable player in the class so he's who you should take.

I just took Harry over Jacobs on a team who is in a complete rebuild. But Jacobs is guaranteed to see a ton of work given his situation so taking him at 1 seems to make the most sense with where your team is at. I like Harry's long term viability though. I also think he will get a decent run as a rookie, but nowhere near Jacobs.

Jacobs for me. Really not close either in my book. WRs usually take time to develop into useful fantasy producers. With Brady entering his age 42 season this year, and the Pats offense being one of the more complicated ones for young players to grasp over the years I just don't see Harry and Brady's windows aligning.

You could explore trading the 1.01 for additional picks plus a WR. 1.01 sold for 1.07+Golladay in my league a week ago. Supposedly the guy buying originally offered his 2020 1st+2020 2nd+Golladay (which I like better). Maybe this was an overpay but guy buying was RB desperate while guy selling was WR desperate.

I would take Jacobs. I’m not sure what the fascination with Harry is. He’s being overhyped by landing spot. There are plenty other WRs in class that have just as much chance of hitting as he does. Jacobs has a clearer path to workload then Harry as well.

Just curious, does anyone have rankings/adp prior to the nfl draft? I thought Harry was pretty high. Even if, I think I'd go Jacobs because I think the value is there now
