Devonta for Samuel?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Devonta for Samuel?

Postby Bennyblanco22 » Sat Jul 13, 2019 4:08 pm

I had a roster loaded with rb talent and decided to sell (low?) for Curtis Samuel.
Final trade was:

Freeman and 2021 4th for Curtis Samuel

What do you guys think?

I don't really see how youre selling low on Samuel. Sure Samuel is raw and has lots of potential, but Moore is the guy there and how many WR is Cam going to keep relevant? Freeman has that backfield all to himself, and I personally think its a bounce back year for the Falcons offensively. Regardless, barring injury Freeman is a lock on 1000+ yards.

I get you are loaded at RB but I think that’s selling too low

Freeman is worth more than Samuel this year but heading into 2020, this trade could look different. Time will tell here.

Don’t like it at all. I’m ok overpaying a bit to get your guy but this seems like terrible value. Would have tried to move Freeman for more and got Samuel for less.

Thanks guys i had a feeling i sold a bit low on freeman, but league is a bit trade-averse and didn't want to be stuck with freeman after another concussion. Kmani, i was the one selling freeman for samuel. I like samuel but like you said gator, i'm hoping things even out after this season. I really liked samuel's line after week 9 or so last season especially the TDs. Was also thinking along the lines of how many people like to "stack", as i have cmc i assume if he gets injured samuel will produce more and if samuel gets injured, i don't see many other weapons on that offense beside moore and cmc (& maybe thomas). I usually post offers here first but decided to do a post-trade post for feedback. Don't regret the trade but thanks for opinions guys. Had "won" 4/5 of my trades so far this offseason so i took the gamble.

I think its fair...freeman is a tough sell for what most would want and Samuel is a tough buy for what most will pay. Both owners walk away happy.

I actually see no reason to believe that Samuel wont be worth more at this time next yr if your a Curtis believer.

Exactly. Was very tough to sell Freeman and of all my rbs, he was the one i wanted to trade for wr help the most due to the possibility of his value dropping off a cliff. And I'm not overly high on Samuel but i think he is talented enough to have a decent length career and help my squad for longer than freeman.

Don’t chase WRs based on touchdowns. Not a fan of Samuel myself and wouldn’t sell Freeman straight up for him.
Good luck.
