Thoughts on my startup half way through...

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Thoughts on my startup half way through...

Postby joeday » Fri Jul 12, 2019 1:08 pm

12 team, PPR. Starting lineup is 1QB, 2-3RBs, 3-4WRs, 1-2TEs, 1D/ST. I picked out of the 2 spot.

1.2 - Christian McCaffrey (Barkley went 1.1 obviously and I have Zeke in more leagues than CMC)
2.11 - George Kittle (Amari Cooper was the highest when I picked but since I just took him in my last startup I changed it up)
3.2 - Keenan Allen (tough choice between him and Diggs but Keenan was WR3 and WR12 the last two seasons)
4.11 - David Montgomery (BPAs were Kupp, MW, and Montgomery...wanted Godwin, Ridley or DJM but they went in front of me)
5.2 - Cooper Kupp (MW went in front of me but Kupp probably made more sense anyway since I have Keenan)
6.11 - Tyler Lockett (debated between him and Sutton but felt Lockett made for a safer WR3)
7.2 - Carson Wentz (debated between him and Sutton here as well...not sure if I made the right call)
8.11 - David Njoku (already have Kittle but the value was just too good here, especially since we can flex a TE)
9.2 - Lamar Miller (there was almost zero left at the RB position...)
10.11 - D'Onta Foreman (glad I got both...I may have reached but people were starting to vulture handcuffs)
11.2 - JJ Arcega-Whiteside (Deebo went right in front of me but this is my first share of JJAW so I was happy to snag him)
12.11 - Marquez Valdes-Scantling (it was between him and Keke)
13.2 - Keke Coutee (happy to get them both)

QB - Carson Wentz
RB - Christian McCaffrey, David Montgomery, Lamar Miller, D'Onta Foreman
WR - Keenan Allen, Cooper Kupp, Tyler Lockett, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Keke Coutee
TE - George Kittle, David Njoku

How do I look half way through?

(had I known Njoku would last until 8.11 I probably would have gone Cooper or Diggs at 2.11 but I would have never guessed that after seeing a massive early TE run in my last startup)

Looks really solid to me. If Montgomery pans out or even the combo of Miller/Foreman, you should be a contender right off the bat.

Looks good. Don’t be down on taking Kittle early. You’ve got a top 3 TE for several years and a quality backup in Njoku that you could work into a deal later on for RB help if you wanted to

That's a very good team that can win this year and be good for the long-term, too.
