Acquired Corey Davis for my 2020 1st. Right move?

I figured his value has probably bottomed out so the only way he can go is up (easy peasy) and that TEN will be a little better in the passing game-- even if it fails again it will be overhauled anyway. I am young and rebuilding but have made playoffs all 4 years of league thus far with 1 title (7 of 14 make the dance). Needed another young WR-- thoughts on this? I like sending my pick away to motivate me to make better in season moves.

I'm still a big believer in Davis and feel this trade will play out well for you in the long run. The 2020 class is getting so much hype that it's tough to move a 1st but I would still take Davis here. He has shown that he could be a true WR1 if Tennessee can get a QB.

At first i didnt love it but after seeing you still have 2 2019 1sts and 2 2020 1sts i think its a pretty good move.

To me what other picks you have is irrelevant. I would evaluate a trade simply on value.

To me the other picks are relevant in that when he adds Monty and DK (or whoever) at those picks it looks like a pretty decent team in a 14 team league. Therefore, his 2020 should be on the back end. Hopefully that also mean the 2 remaining 2020 pick are from worse teams

the others are likely early to mid (1.04-1.07) and mid to late (1.07-1.11) so I have a shot at a couple decent picks there, and yes the assumption is that I will be adding Monty + best available WR at 1.08

The trade value is fine. I don't have incredible confidence in CD but if you do then you certainly did buy at a good time. Maybe could've paid a little less given his depressed value

I think you should have gotten him cheaper. His “bottomed out value” plus the “sky high 2020 1st value” should have made it easier to get him cheaper.

If I was moving that 2020 1st, I would have targeted a better WR.

the part about liking to send away your first so you make better in season moves is one of the silliest things ive read here on the forum.

no good, Davis is not worth a 1st. he has been in the league and has done nothing that warrants a 1st. if you buy while he is bottomed out its for a 2nd

Definitely wouldn't spend a 2020 1st on him but I was happy the above deal given I'm rebuilding. Plus I have a bunch of 2020 picks to strengthen RB group next year. For this year I'll try to grab Hill or Singletary

Agreed. Overpaid even tho I believe he could be worth it. But I think you could’ve gotten him much cheaper and saved the 2020 first

X2 that struck me as odd as well. I don’t care if I’m 1-11 I’m still making the best moves that week I can and playing my best line up that I can. I don’t need much inspiration to do it
