Tyreek vs Thielen

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tyreek vs Thielen

Postby Moneyball_85 » Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:33 am

With rumors swirling that Tyreek Hill may only miss 4 games (or less), I've been trying to obtain him to my roster. I just offered Thielen, which I think is a very generous offer. I also expect that offer to be rejected because of the high ceiling Hill has. If he rejects, would you move on from the deal or add anything to it?

You might have missed the boat I wouldn't take thielen for Hill at this point. I acquired hill in 5/6 leagues right before the lowest point (the tape) and I was given unbelievable amounts of crap (deservedly so). Now I'm feeling good again bought a WR1 at a WR3 price.

I probably wouldn't offer more than Thielen, but it comes down to whether you can weather missing Hill for half the season and still make the playoffs.

Thielen is a solid offer, but it will not be enough at this point. I could see another piece being added to the Thielen side.

I have zero interest in buying Hill now if I didn't buy him already. Long term he's one step away from permanent banishment. If Theilen doesn't do it then move on to other deals

That’s my exact sentiments. Nothing has changed, lol, there’s no way I’d give up Thielen for Hill, let alone adding to him.

Update: I've been going back and forth with Hill owner. This is what it's looking like would have to happen to get a deal done...

I give: Theilen + 2020 1st (mid)
I get: Tyreek + 2 2020 2nd rounders (mid to late)

If Hill's suspension is 8 games or less I look at this deal as a win for me. Tyreek is 25 years old and has potential to be top receiver in league. Obviously, its a risk as this point, but the ceiling is so high that I'm enticed to pull the trigger.

I feel Thielen is a more safe and sure bet that can give you production for longer. Hill will screw up again soon and be out.

I'd take the deal if you can't get anything more.. but see if you could squeeze at least 3rd out of him too that could help you move up one of those 2nds later on

Thielen >> Hill in dynasty. A bit surprised at how certain many feel the narrative is on Hill. I don't think it's safe to go back in the water yet. As a speculative / buy low risk? Sure if you can get past his obvious baggage. Even then you have to factor in he's damaged goods no matter how short a suspension he may or may not get -- even more than he was before the current outbreak.

Valuing him as a top 15-20 dynasty asset right now? No way am I paying topshelf prices like Thielen. Very likely Thielen is going to give you WR1 / high end WR2 #'s for the next 2-3 years. Do you know that about Hill? You've more confidence than I do if so...

I know, it’s nuts to me too. I wish I could play with some of these owners, I still own Hill in two leagues and I’m not getting any offers, I’m talking zero. I haven’t gotten any the entire time, from when this started in March until now, a lot of people think the news has gotten better but I’m not seeing it.

I wouldn't even consider trading this much real player value for tyreek. Even if he isn't suspended more than 4 games (not convinced) there's no guarantee that KC wants to keep him after this year, and he has a history of exactly this sort of thing that makes him a high risk player for future suspensions/bans.

The offer you posted with the picks is paying almost full price for Hill when we still do not actually know anything new. Only stories of what might be. Don’t buy Hill unless it is a solid discount.
