Move TY now?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Move TY now?

Postby Oh Yeah Leon » Thu Jun 27, 2019 4:44 pm

Team/ league in sig. I keep reading to move TY now before it's too late. My question is, should I do this when I'm aiming for a title this year? I understand the logic behind trading him now, but not on a team that's competing right? I could see moving him if the Tyreek news comes back favorable to him playing the majority of the season and Kupp continuing to progress from his injury....but til then it doesn't seem to be too smart.

Thoughts?

Wait it out. He's a safe FLEX option on your team, with or without Hill. If you're set on moving him at the right now, wait for more hill news, then make your decision. Shouldnt be long.

Yeah if you’re competing, you keep him. If you’re building, you trade now cause his value probably drops significantly after 2019. I’d expect a nice season out of him.

The likely market for an older WR is other contenders. Why would you strengthen another contender? Sometimes the price of einning a championship is eating some value on an aging asset. TY is a fantastic bye week fill in and your safety net if Hill catches a suspension or someone gets hurt. If you get late in the season and for whatever reason your team turns out to be a non contender, THEN you move TY to another contender.

I’d wait- I’m in a similar situation with AJ, unless someone offers an offer too good to refuse, I’m holding unless my season goes worse than planned

If you think you can contend, hold him. If not, shop him to contenders for multiple picks/young upside players. You may get more in a deal after the season gets rolling too.

Why sell Hilton? It looks like your team can contend, but you'll need Hilton at WR assuming Hill misses 4-8 games. And even after Hill returns, your WR depth is questionable behind Hilton.
