Nuk Trade

Postby PhillySpecial » Wed Jun 26, 2019 1:31 pm

I am contemplated offering this to the Nuk owner since he is rebuilding and usually gets terrible trade offers (we are good buddies and chat alot). I think Nuk might put me in contention for the next few years since I have a solid deep young core. But I am pay a major premium here.. I think..

I give: Golladay, 2020 1st, 2020 2nd, 2021 1st, 2021 2nd
I get: Hopkins and 2020 4th, 2020 5th, 2021 4th, 2021 5th

This may intrigue a rebuilding owner. Lots of draft capital and a solid piece coming over too.

I like it. You can afford to lose those picks and Hopkins definitely helps put you in the strong contender class. Send it and see what happens

I probably wouldn't sell Hopkins for that, but it's a decent offer.

I doubt he would take it, but I don’t think it’s offensive or anything.

Based on 2018 stats, Nuk averaged 6.25 more points per game than Golladay. Is that really worth two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks?

I don't really understand why you're asking for any picks back. When the picks are worthless (4th and 5th rounders), you're better off leaving them out as it doesn't make your trade partner think they're giving you as much back.

But this is easily Hopkins still. Golladay is so far away from being proven, yet he is being so hyped right now. He has upside, but he isn't a sure thing yet.

We downsize rosters to 20 players before our rookie draft. If I don’t get the late draft picks back then my roster is 20 players plus whatever amount of pick drafts I have. Some teams have 8 draft picks and some teams have 2 draft picks. Which means the teams would roster 28 players or 22 players for the entire season unless they make trades for additional roster spots. I agree the late picks are not useful but they are necessary for roster depth.
