Golladay vs DJ Moore

Postby PhillySpecial » Sat Jun 22, 2019 8:15 am

Which player would you rather have on your dynasty team? I was condiering a deal that included me trading Golladay for DJ. Would this be a startup trade or does one side to add another piece?

Totally preference here imo. Person coming for the other guy should probably add a 3rd because I see these two as pretty even.

I like Golladay more. He showed what he could do in his first full season and is built like a true #1 wr. He is also tied to a fairly solid QB.

Very close. I think Golladay will probably give you better “immediate” results but I like Moore slightly better overall. He just turned 22 and had a solid rookie season, despite Cam’s hurt shoulder at the end of the season. I don’t think you can go wrong with either player though.

This for me, too. I think Moore puts up similar numbers to what Golladay did last year, and I don't see Golladay's ceiling being all that much higher than those numbers.

I think Moore is better right now, and he's younger.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Golladay for me. Higher ceiling (IMHO) as a dominant alpha WR. Already a weekly fantasy asset, whereas you don’t want to have to start DJ Moore on a weekly basis.

Very few Moore owners would sell straight up for Golladay probably, but I definitely want Kenny G over DJ Moore.

As a Golladay owner, I’d probably want a 2nd on top of Moore, but I doubt anyone is paying that, and I could easily see it being the other way around this time next year. I like both players a lot, but I’d rather stick with “my guy.” In a rebuild, I’d probably take Moore though.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

Thanks all. I see the poll leans towards Moore but I will hold Golladay. I do like the comment about feeling confident starting Golladay in a weekly basis whereas Moore does have some risk on a weekly basis.

I take DJ Moore pretty easily here. He's got the metrics and draft pedigree to become a top-10 dynasty WR within the next two years, even with Cam as his QB. He's one of my biggest buys right now because I think his price is going to explode this year.

Golladay is already 25 and will turn 26 next season. Not "old" by any means, but I think last year was his ceiling, and Detroit is supposed to be transitioning to a run-heavy offense centered around KJ.

That could totally happen, but he’s the #1 target there. I don’t really care if they go to a run heavy attack - Stafford will still throw at LEAST 450 times, if not 500-550 realistically.

Who’s all siphoning targets away from him?

Marvin Jones (who is rumored to be on the trade block), sure. 100-120 targets?

Kerryon: 70 targets max?

Hockenson: 60-70 targets?

Amendola: 65-75 targets?

Those are all absolutely ceiling numbers for those players, IMO.

I don’t see Golladay having a problem getting to 120 targets, assuming he’s healthy.

I'm not going to disagree with Golladay pushing for North of 100 targets, and maybe ending up in the 110-120 range.

But, why won't DJ Moore do the same? Last year as a rookie, he had 82 targets. He didn't start earning a significant snap count until his 7th game when he surpassed a 70% snap count. Devin Funchess is gone, leaving 79 targets up for grabs. The stars are aligning for DJ Moore, a guy drafted at 1.24 in an elite draft class, to move into an elite tier. The dude is 22 (22!!!!) years old, the clear #1 WR on his team (not counting CMC and his guaranteed 120ish targets), and has metrics pointing to a very strong NFL career. I would not be surprised if he gets 100-110 targets this year, then is over 120 targets in year 3 and cemented as an elite dynasty WR going into his age 24 season.
