Worth it to Move Hopkins?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Worth it to Move Hopkins?

Postby BHerm24 » Thu Jun 20, 2019 11:49 am

So I know Deandre Hopkins is almost untradeable but the Tyreek owner is looking for another RB and wants to offload Hill. He really likes Chubb and not high on cook. What are your thoughts if I offered the following? Too much to give or not enough? Am I taking unnecessary risk?

Give: Hopkins, Chubb and 2019 1st
Get: JuJu, Dalvin Cook, Hill and 2020 1st
Team #1 - 12 team 6pts all TDs PPR and 0.2 PPC. Keep Starting lineup everyone else gets thrown in for redraft
Start 1 QB,1 RB,2 WR, 1TE, 2 Flex

My Starting Lineup
QB: R. Wilson
WR: D.J. Moore
WR: Hopkins
RB: Joe Mixon
WR/RB/TE: Antonio Gibson
WR/RB/TE: Nick Chubb
TE: Dallas Goedert

Team #2 - Full Dynasty 12 Team PPR 20 player rosters

QBs: Kyler Murray, Matt Stafford
RBs: Kamara, Dobbins, Edmonds, Penny, Pollard, A. Mattison
WRs: Tyreek, DHop, AJB, OBJ, Jeudy, Denzel Mims, Bryan Edwards, Collin Johnson, Donovan People-Jones, Preston Williams, Curtis Samuel
TEs: Kittle, Goedert, Logan Thomas

I personally wouldnt do this with my Nuk.

Chubb=Cook
2019 First=<2020 1st
Hopkins> Juju & Hill

Remove the 2019 first from your side and its a bit better. But still not great

Terrible trade imo. Id rather have Chubb than Cook. Ive bought low on Tyreek in a few leagues but he still carries a lot of risk.

Honestly i think this comes down to what you think of Juju, Sure he is valued less, but also has put up two big years and is 4.5 years younger than Nuk.

I think Chubb and Cook are more or less even and would prefer Hill and a 2020 1st to a 2019 1st.

So perhaps Nuk, 2019 1st for Juju, 2020 1st and Hill. Would also be good to know where these are projected to be

Why? Why would you do this? Why? How does this improve your team? The answer is it doesn't. So why would you do this? This trade is basically Hopkins and Chubb for Juju and Cook. Why.

I put this out there to see thoughts from others not really to get insulted. One reason JuJu is younger with AB gone and a lot of targets to account for so production could be there with Hopkins. Another reason I am not sure what happens to Chubb when Hunt is activated. Beat writers seem to be very impressed with Kareem right now. Also I believe there is a ton more talent in 2020 draft than the 2019. I am fine with disagreeing and I am fine with being wrong, but to make answer my question to make me feel dumb I don't appreciate.

I think JuJu is a stud in the making and I still see no point to trade Hopkins. You already know what you have in Hopkins and Chubb could be a beast.

It sounds like you only keep 7 players in this format, making it more of a keeper league than a dynasty format. You also only have to start 1 RB, which devalues both Chubb and Cook. I'd value this trade as follows:

Hopkins = JuJu + 2020 1st
Chubb >= Cook
Hill > 2019 1st, especially since there's less risk in a format where you keep so few players

I'd definitely consider making this trade.
Kittles Pox | Championships: 2015, 2017

WR: Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Michael Gallup, Christian Kirk
TE: George Kittle, Travis Kelce | K: Younghoe Koo | DST: SF
PS: Mecole Hardman, Tony Pollard | 2020 Picks: 1.09, 2.10, 3.03 | 2021 Picks: 1st, 2nd

wouldn't do it but I see how it could be somewhat tempting.
QB: Mayfield, Bridgewater, Fitzpatrick
RB:David Johnson, Mixon, Chubb, James Robinson, Mattison, K Vaughn
WR: AJG, K Allen, D Adams, JuJu, C Godwin, D Slayton, S Miller
TE: Engram, Kittle
K: Succup
Def.: Arizona

Champions 2006 and 2018. Second a few times in between, again in 2019.

No PPR. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB,WR,TE) 1K 1 1 Def
Drop 7 ea yr. 20 player roster with up to 2 IR

Hopkins is a stud with a young talented QB. Juju is undoubtedly a stud, and is younger. Cook has played kn 50% of the games and still hasnt proven hes in the same class as Chubb, also Hunt could be traded and is on a one year deal. He wont be in Cle next year. Id keep Hopkins but thats me

I fail to see how the above posts insulted you... "Terrible Trade IMO' "I wouldn't do this deal" "Why? why Would you do this? Why?" I guess i fail to see how this is insulting you asked people opinion and they gave it you..

I personally wouldn't do the trade either, but i wouldn't fault you if you did as you might have preferences or think Hill will come out without a suspension. In the future font ask people for their opinion if your not ready to get the wide array of responses that are possible.
