Rosen vs 2 2nd's Superflex

Postby mmass » Mon Jun 17, 2019 2:20 pm

I am in a delima here. I have posted on the superflex page but the traffic there is much less than here. I don't normally repost but I am actually confused if I should accept the trade or use those picks to eventually create depth in a stacked lineup.

previous post - https://forum.dynastyleaguefootball.com ... 0&t=185344

SF2 in the Signature below

I give 2020 2nd and 2021 2nd
Get Rosen

Team is stacked but not depth. Starters would be with or without the trade
Watson
Luck
Barkley
Gordon
OBJ
Hopkins
Evan
Howard
K-Def

My current thought is to buy Rosen and just play it like the stock market. Eventually flipping him or foles for some depth. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Even if Rosen turns out to be decent, it’ll be 2-3 years minimum for MIA to put enough around him to be fantasy relevant. I’d take the 2nds, if you’re the Rosen owner, I’d ask for more.

WRs: OBJ, K. Allen, Cooks, ARob, Z. Jones, Chark, K. White, D. Robinson, McLaurin
TE: Howard, Njoku, Reed

Picks:
2020: 1-4
2021: 1-4
2022: 1-4

Team 2 - 10 Team PPR SF - QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2FLEX, 1SF

WRs: Thomas, OBJ, AB, Kupp, ARob, C. Ridley, Alshon, MVS, Chark, Gordon, McLaurin, Quinn
TE: Burton, Walker

Picks:
2020: 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3
2021: 1, 3
2022: 1-3

Team 3 - 10 Team PPR - QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 3FLEX

WRs: Nuk, Evans, Cooper, Cooks, Samuel, Butler, Chark, Quinn, Robinson, D. Johnson, Morgan Jr.

Seems like in SF, this would be super cheap for a young potential starter. I can't argue what the above post is saying but I would take Rosen here and gamble on him panning out a bit. Even if he can be used for bye weeks or injuries.

I think I have to take it just from the value standpoint and possible flip... I loved Rosen last year and he was in a horrid spot in Zona

I have real concerns about Rosen. The team has little commitment to him, both capital and financial, and can move on next year if they wish with what should be a high pick. Yeah he has talent, but the league clearly has concerns given the low price he went for. I worry about staying power. The price is reasonable, but the window to me feels shorter than many think given his initial draft pedigree and college talent evaluation.

You have Watson and Luck, take Rosen. Your seconds will likely be late and Rosen will sit on your bench while he develops in Miami. If it was 2020 2.01 and 2.02 it’d be different but 2 late seconds with one 2 years from now is nothing. Take Rosen and even flip him for something more if he has a few good starts

Now you can look to sell Foles to a needy team before the wheels fall off. He's decent and will do fine this year, but defenses will figure him out.

This. The price is right IMO. I just keep getting this feeling that Rosen will be in the exact same position next year with Miami taking a QB in round 1.

Lets be clear, if this is your 2020 2nd and 2021 2nd, there is no way you can turn this down. Your team should be in contention to win it all making the pick potentially the 24th overall rookie pick in both years. The only way you "lose" this trade is if: Rosen does not start/perform well this year AND Miami drafts a QB that can instantly come in and start for the team.

Anything else, the minimal value you paid for Rosen can easily be recovered.

I still was able to get a 2020 1st+ for Rosen in a SF recently. This offer is very light for a potential starter.
