Nick Chubb or DJ

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Nick Chubb or DJ

Postby BHerm24 » Tue Jun 11, 2019 2:22 pm

With not knowing what happens to Nick Chubb's workload when Hunt comes back is he worth giving up for David Johnson? If so what would I need to add if anything?

I would hold Chubb at this point. I don't think Hunt will play a huge role this year necessarily and who knows if Hunt is still there in 2020. I would not move Chubb due to what could happen.

They both have question marks. Chubb has Hunt mid-season and thus the playoffs for fantasy. DJ still has the horrible line, but has a new offensively minded head coach, one that is pass happy. DJ will catch a bunch of passes as Kyler will need to dump off quite a bit. Running for DJ, hmmm who knows. Sooo

We do know that Chubb was a top RB in the back half of 2018 and is younger. That talent is not going away, but may be used less but I still keep him over DJ. If just a one year decision I am 50/50.

I own them both and Mixon and these 3 are all very close for this year. Chubb I like longer term.
QB: Mayfield, Bridgewater, Fitzpatrick
RB:David Johnson, Mixon, Chubb, James Robinson, Mattison, K Vaughn
WR: AJG, K Allen, D Adams, JuJu, C Godwin, D Slayton, S Miller
TE: Engram, Kittle
K: Succup
Def.: Arizona

Champions 2006 and 2018. Second a few times in between, again in 2019.

No PPR. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB,WR,TE) 1K 1 1 Def
Drop 7 ea yr. 20 player roster with up to 2 IR

Plus, what is Johnson's role in that offense. It used to run through him, but not anymore.

Hunt is nothing to Cleveland. He will spell Chubb heavy after his suspension to keep Chubb fresh for the stretch run/playoffs and then Cleveland will place a tag on him and receive a draft compensation pick when he signs somewhere else.

I am keeping Chubb here and not thinking twice about it.
