Trade help: Some big names, some big picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade help: Some big names, some big picks

Postby LMS123 » Wed May 29, 2019 3:47 pm

For team 1 in Sig I was offered:

Give - Lamar Jackson, Christian Kirk
Get - 1.04, Tyler Lockett

I’m going to counter, and i think I want to counter with:

Give - Lamar Jackson, Christian Kirk
Get - 1.03, 2.04, Tyler Lockett

Is that fair?

He also asked about Gurley so what if I did the same for Gurley?

Give - Todd Gurley
Get - 1.03, 2.04, Tyler Lockett

I appreciate any input!

Re: Lamar+Kirk or Gurley vs Lockett+picks???

I would want more for Gurley and I don't think the first trade helps you much. Jackson is a question mark at this point but both Haskins and Murray will be gone by the time you pick at the 1.03 based on the SF format. That leaves you with Tannehill if an injury happens to your two starters. I would rather gamble on Jackson then Tannehill.

Normally I’d think the same but The teams with 1.01 and 1.02 have:

1.01 QB’s: Rodgers, Brees, Stafford, Glennon
1.02 QB’s: Luck, Rosen, Eli, Tyrod

And the 1.01 team has much much bigger needs , so I feel a QB could be there at 3.

And for Gurley what if it was 1.03, 2020 1st and Lockett?

So based on that I’m guessing you’d say no to the Lamar/Kirk trade?

What about Gurley?

I'm not so sure there won't be a QB available at 1.03. In the 3 SF leagues I'm in that have drafted or are drafting since the NFL draft, Haskins has gone 1.07, 1.03, and not yet taken at 1.04. I doubt it will happen, but I'll take him at 1.07 or he slips that far.

I think the first counter leaves you a little light at WR and your trade partner may think they are giving up more value than you. As for Gurley, you might be giving up more value, but I'm not as concerned about Gurlery's knees as others. I think his volume definitely goes down and the early part of the season sees him being very gently worked in, but he will be handling the majority of the RB touches by the latter half of the season. If you are worried about drop, trade him if you can. I've been getting him cheap all over.
