Need some help with my WRS

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Need some help with my WRS

Postby boobam13 » Thu May 26, 2011 12:33 pm

I am looking at my small stable of WRs on my dynasty team and I was wondering what do I really have, here are my guys and my thoughts - please let me know if I am way off on any of these guys one way or the other:

Kenny Britt - stud in the making if he keeps his head on right
Pierre Garcon - #2 in a great passing offense - needs to catch the damn ball more than he does
Mario Manningham - great situation and even better if Steve Smith doesnt come back
Malcom Floyd - probably the #3 guy in San Diego - injuries didnt allow him to step up like I thought - thinking about trading him away
Emmanuel Sanders - will be the new possession guy in Pitt once Hines Ward "dances" away
Jerome Simpson - everyone's favorite sleeper - might try to cash in on the preseason hype

I have the #7 pick and am planning on taking Greg Little.
I was going to package up Floyd,Simpson and the 21st and trade them for the 8th and 9th overall picks and grab Baldwin and Hunter...can you see this happening or is this not a good deal?

Thanks much

I would agree on most of your assessments, except for Garcon. He's really the #3 and has struggled mightily with concentration and consistency. I'm almost to the point where I worry he may never get it.

As far as the trade goes, I'm not sure you'll be able to pull that off, but if so, it's a great deal for you.

I agree with airlex. I'd much rather have Collie than Garcon, and if you can swing that deal, do it. Pretty much thinking a lot of the Simpson hype died when they drafted Green.

Austin Collie/ Seattle Mike/Amendola/Jordy Nelson/Santonio Holmes/Mike Thomas-I like all these guys better than Garcon. There are people who value Garcon higher than me(not hard). You just need to find 1 of those guys who has a reciever you like. Or Collie suffers a concussion game 1, and Garcon becomes the best thing since sliced bread, and you'll wish you'd kept him.

As far as picks go you should be able to get a 2nd from somebody. I don't think you'll be able to do that deal unless it's been offered to you.

Your WR's are very thin, so you may be better off holding him or trading for another WR. It could be difficult to find a quality WR to get with Garcon unless you package him though.

Just sent addai and brown and got Mike Williams Tampa - thinking that works well for my WR depth

Now I can roll out Britt and WIlliams each week and focus on RBs in the draft - still plan on taking Little at 7 though - like his upside!

In my 16 team 45 man roster IDP league, I saw Garcon go for two second rounders. The Colts were in danger of missing the playoffs last year, and finished the regular season with four straight wins to capture another AFC South title. Pierre Garcon scored in 4 of the 5 last games, with a pair of them coming against the Titans in week 14. He's a great WR3 with the potential to stay there as long as Peyton Manning's around, and it could only take one more concussion for Austin Collie to have to hang up the shoulder pads.

Agree...maybe now I can sit on him since I have two pretty solid WRs and see what happens - feel much better about my WRS situation

Garon is a FF WR3 to me at best. He was only the #2 on a passing O when Collie and Clark were injured. When all the players are present, Garcon is like 4 or 5 (depending on how many catches the RB's get). I think Garcon should be moved why people are still looking at him as a breakout player. Just my opinion, but sitting on him right now is just losing potential value in return.

I recently traded Garcon, NYG Steve Smith & my 1st to get Miles Austin. It completed my team so my 1st should be low anyways. Try to package Garcon in a similar fashion.

Thanks for the advice - I am packaging him and Malcom Floyd up and going after Austin, Maclin and Dez...are there others I should or shouldnt be targeting?

I think you'll have better luck packaging Garcon & Manningham for 1 of those guys. I don't think Floyd has that kind of value.Good for you, if you can do it.

At what point to do you start throwing in a first round pick with these guys to get a better talent?
Nicks, White, Fitz for sure

What about Austin, Maclin, Steve Johnson, V-Jack, Dez....it would probably be the 7th pick over all - or do I stay put and take Greg Little?
