Evans for Hunt + 1.02 - hear me out

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Evans for Hunt + 1.02 - hear me out

Postby zoster80 » Thu May 23, 2019 1:49 pm

This is for Zo Nasty below

This league is impossible to trade for RB's everyone hoards them like you can't imagine. I try really hard to move my WR's or other bench guys to get RB's and people will not leg of them unless I overpay and sell low on my top WR's which I have 5 great ones, but I can only start 3.

This offer below is best I've came across.

Hunt + 1.02 for Evans

I would probably take sanders at 1.2, so I would end up with two RB2's for Evans which is still selling low, but under the circumstances and my team make up, do you think I should take the offer?

I think most leagues are like that with RBs. I don't see it as a legitimate reason to sell a stud for that cheap. I would rather be patient and try to gather future firsts and draft RBs.

From personal experience I've done nearly the same thing and regretted it.

A few years back I sold Keenan for Jeremy Hill and Thomas Rawls when they were hot commodities. You know how that has played out.

I do think Hunt is better by far than those two. And if you could get Harry/Jacobs/Sanders with 1.02 it's not terrible.

Again, just wait if at all possible. Don't make my mistake and be impatient. A deal will come along eventually.

I still wouldn't, but you know your league better than we do. If you really believe in Hunt and Sanders, then go for it.

Easy pass for me.

Just trade one of those studs for multiple 2020 1sts, and try to get a RB that way. Then you just gotta play the ww harder than anyone this season, and always lean RB for your flier roster spots. In the meantime, take old pos's like McCoy/Gore, or unsexy names like White/Lat Murray/etc. Gurley is still prob going to play a role to a degree were he's (at worst) a fringe RB1, and Barber might even start for Arians. Your team is great, and having at hole at RB2 is not going to sink that ship.

It's far too early in the offseason to be selling a stud for this cheap. You don't need to solidify that RB2 spot until September, lots of time left to have a better trade come across your desk.

NO!
Edit: In leagues that hoard RBs, don't give in, go zero RB. Carry a roster of RBs you can draft and those that are an injury, suspension, off-field incident away from starting.

Maybe counterintuitive, but spitballing anyways...

Have you considered putting gurley on the block? If your league hoards RB, maybe you can get an overpay for him. Maybe worth a look, what if the guy who has Mixon is willing to add a 1st this year and next?

You won back-to-back championships with that stable of receivers and with Gurley not doing a ton in the fantasy playoffs.
That right there should clue you in to the advantage of having a great receiving unit.

Don't take away your advantage for the suspended Cleveland backup and an unknown rookie.

I also agree with the guy who said offer Julio instead.

Having made those 2 points, you know your league. If both guys become top 10 RBs, it would be a win for you. But I have no idea how likely that is to happen.

I’ve been saying this to people in my league for years...I have stayed patient...I will not undersell my guys...trust me I’ve gotten way worst offers than this and people think just because I’m “wasting points” on my bench I’m going to send Hopkins for D Williams + 2nd or Bell for Evans + Juju....

This one I kind of liked because I would net two young RBs, although Hunt RBBC/contract situation and DV issues are risky. I asked for Chubb + 1.02 originally and this was his counter.

As far as Julio, the people with the most RBs with RB2 potential the I like...Aaron Jones, D williams, Carson, Mack, Guice are in rebuilds and don’t want a 30 year old no matter how much I sell them that he’s got 3 years + left.

The owner of Chubb and Hunt is not a rebuild, but he owns Ridley and doesn’t want both falcons guys. He also owns Henry and M Williams so he’s anti Allen too. I told him I’d take Ridley back in a deal, he basically said Hunt + 1.02 was his best offer.

I’m going to hold still meanwhile, thanks for talking me off the ledge. The poster above mentioned sending Allen for Rawls + Hill and that’s so True, these flavor of the month RBs like Gus Edwards, Collins and Howard lose value fast. In this particular league I traded for Julio the year he was injured to a guy who was chasing a ring and he took Zac Stacy, Ben Tate and Eric Decker for Julio and has regretted it ever since...I’m trying to avoid the same feeling.

I like the idea of moving Gurley, but i feel like I would be selling low at the moment, the ambiguity about the knee is killing his value right now.

I’m going to keep trying to find a deal for fair value for my WRs or keep on surviving on scrubs I pick up on waivers like I did the last few years (Collins, Barber, foreman, Ballage types) and hope someone slips in the draft
