DK Fever

All you DK truthers please convince me on why DK isn’t just another David Boston.

What previous prospects do you compare him to the most? This will help me get inside your mindset.

I don't know who David Boston is, but DK is a one trick pony imo. He can't run routes, but he's fast and tall, so there's that.

That is sorta my thoughts but I haven’t liked him from square one so I’m just want to see it from another POV

Opportunity is there with Baldwin moving on. Draft capital is solid. Paired with a good QB who can chuck it. He was a good player in college and I think good coaching could really unlock his potential. I think he'll be a slow starter but I think he could be a really good player is he is humble and works hard. He could be Jimmy Graham-like beast in the redzone too which nobody seems to be talking about. I like him at 1.05 right now until camp picks up and what not and we get some fresh news.

He does kind of remind me of David Boston except he didn't lose his speed when he bulked up and he isn't as much of a bonehead as Boston was. I do think Metcalf went to a good spot with a great QB. Remember when Calvin Johnson came out he was just big and fast with a limited route tree.

Your joking right? Calvin was the #2 pick in the nfl draft if i remember correctly. He was well decorated with all his college accomplishments.

Dk metcalf didnt catch 70 balls in his college career.

Im not seeing it with metcalf. I thought there may be room for growth but he'll be 22 this season and with someone who appears to be raw...id like to see him younger or having accomplished more at the college level. I wish i could offer some insight on how good i think he could become but i have him as the biggest bust this year since he's regularly being taken top 5 and he looks like nothing more than a workout warrior.

I'm not really saying that Metcalf is Calvin Johnson; just a similar skill set. While Johnson was productive at Georgia Tech, they didn't have a complicated passing attack. He was basically just big and fast. And with that skill set he was able to have a fairly nice career.

This is what I can't get past. The guy is a physical freak, no doubt, but I don't know how that'll translate to being a good WR when he did so little in terms of receptions in college. Yeah the draft spot is probably a good one but I just don't see how he's going in the top 5 of rookie drafts.

I'm not drafting him top 4 or anything. I did get one share at 1.10 in our day after NFL draft fantasy draft. That's a fair price for a 2nd round guy with lots of red flags but who could be a stud due to situation.

Agreed. I think he has lots of red flags to take him high in any draft but a late 1st is worth the gamble based on Baldwin likely calling it a career.

i don't get that, i think DK would benefit more from a strong wide receiver corp than from a weak one.
