This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Depends on my roster. If i am legit competing this year, I would have Jacobs, Sanders, Williams, Harry, Montgomery. If i am rebuilding, i would have all the rookies above Williams.

Behind all of them.

I was listening to a podcast with Nelson Sousa(I'd never heard of him before but apparently a high stakes FFL player). He has a rule called the Zac Stacy rule. Never draft a player in the top 4 rounds of redraft that was undrafted the year before. I liked that alot as a rule of thumb. I'm taking every top 5 rookie over him even in a weak draft class.

I'd say Williams = 1.06 in 1QB or 1.07 in superflex / 2QB. I'd want Jacobs, Montgomery, Sanders, and Harry for sure over him, and possibly Campbell as well. If it's superflex / 2QB, Murray would drop him an additional spot.

I drafted him at the 1.12 in my 12 TM, .5PPR, Superflex (team in sig), long story short, our season ends Week 14 and FA locks the week after it. Williams was dropped and started to take off that same Week 14.

At the 1.12, I'd gladly take the gamble with Jacobs, Sanders + Montgomery gone already.

I keep seeing Hollywood brown going at 1.12 or later. I'd happily take him or mecole hardman or Paris over Williams. I'd take any rookie 1st round pick over Williams

For strictly 2019, I'm taking Williams over all of them. He was a top3 RB over the final month+ of 2018 and his situation hasn't changed at all (swap out Ware for Hyde). There's some risk that he fumbles the job away (through injuries or...fumbling), but there's also no guarantee that any of these rookies actually produces this year - guys like Montee Ball / Ronald Jones / Rashaad Penny should serve as a reminder of that.

For a rebuilding team, it's definitely prudent to sell Williams to a contender. Even if you're not rebuilding, it could be worth selling Williams for a mid-first. Anything lower than that, and I think you can wait until mid-season when he's hopefully putting RB #1 numbers.

I don't think he keeps his job very long. It's not like he was some unknown phenom from a small school like Hunt. He was undrafted, has been around the league and could not beat out other teams 4th and 5th backs for a roster spot. Just how good can he possibly be? The odds of UDFA/practice squad players, who break out and have multiple or even 1 RB1 season is like what, 7%.

I am with ross a roni here, mid second, for a contender.

Well for starters, he produced as well as K. Hunt - I think most regard him as a very talented RB.

FTR, I don't think Williams is all that talented. But I also don't think RB talent matters that much in the NFL, I'd much rather have an average talent in an elite situation than a great talent in a crappy situation.

*Edit* - I should add that this above thinking is only applied to 2019 or re-draft strategy, not to a broader dynasty approach. And I believe the original post was looking for a 2019 assessment.

Why would a contender sell him for a mid-second? Just based on last year, he has league winning potential. Even if you don't think the odds of that happening are very high, why sell that potential jackpot for another random lottery ticket that won't help you this year and likely won't even turn into a fantasy producer?
