D. Hamilton or rookie picks?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

D. Hamilton or rookie picks?

Postby Gtdano_14 » Mon May 13, 2019 10:52 am

Hey guys,

Looking for any input on Hamilton and/or this trade. I’ve been offered:

Get: Hamilton
Give: picks 21 (2.05) and 23 (2.07)

I also have Sutton. I’m leaning towards the keeping picks as Sanders is capping his upside for now.

Thoughts?
16 Team PPR 1 QB - 2 RB - 2 WR - 1 TE - 1 Flex
QB- R.Wilson, B. Mayfield
RB- D. Cook, Zeke, J. Jacobs, J. McKinnon, A. Collins, I. Smith, B. Hill, R. Armstead, M. Boone
WR- J. Smith-Schuster, T. Boyd, C. Sutton, M. Brown, H. Ruggs, S. Miller
TE- G. Kittle, Enron, C. Herndon
'21 Picks- 1.12

I think Hamilton has potential to be a very good player but might take a couple years. If you like guys in that pick range more, I would make the deal.

hamilton, looked good at the end of last season (especially in ppr).
sanders will be annoying for a while if he'll get back ok, but he's a free agent at the end of the season.

i have a bit of a drop-off right around #20 for these rookies so i wouldn't mind the loss of picks too much.

Don't expect Sanders to do much of anything this yr. A 32 yr old guy that is rehabbing an achilles is already on the wrong side of things, and now he has to try and build up a rapport with a new QB...sureeeeeee.

Hamilton looked good last yr, he's the new Sanders, and if Fant doesn't soak up slot targets (which is likely with rookie TEs), Hamilton is likely to have a solid yr.

Have a listen to the Matt Kelley & Matt Harmon pod from May 10th. DaeSean Hamilton comes up and few times, and both have good takes on him.

Between Sutton and Hamilton I think you're guaranteed to have the WR1 on Denver, so I'd do it. If you don't make the deal, then for whatever reason Hamilton emerges (which seems odd, but that's what happened last season), you might be left with the WR2 on Denver and a couple of fliers. Would much rather guarantee having the WR1 on Denver

I might pay one of those 2nds for him, but I don't think he's worth both. If you're really high on him, it wouldn't be a huge overpay I guess, since the odds of either of those picks hitting is low...but still seems pricey to me.

x2

Hamilton is just an early day 3 possession guy. Showed nothing exciting in year 1.

Give me Mattison, D. Harris, Justice Hill, or JJAW/Deebo/Hardman/Butler over him.
