2019 1.08 Theory Pick

So I have the luxury of 1.01, 1.02 and 1.08 this draft. I was going to take Jacobs and Montgomery with the first two picks. I figure then Harry, Sanders, AJ, DK, Hockenson go in some order prior to my 1.08 pick. Is it too early to take D Henderson at 1.08? Reason why is my toughest competition is the runner up in 2018 and he has Gurley and 1.09. He is reeling losing both Hunt and most likely Hill. I love Henderson long term and think Gurley is a year or two from being irrelevant.

That is my worry too but it’d be fun to snake him just infront of my friend.

That is my worry too but it’d be fun to snake him just infront of my friend.

Id rather let my friend reach and use my 1st on the best available.

Yeah hes well worth the pick. If you really want him you may have to trade up though, He hasn't made it past 1.06 in any of my drafts.

I think you would ultimately regret taking a clear-cut backup RB at 1.08 just to troll your Gurley-owning buddy. He went at 3.04 in the draft I just completed a couple hours ago. The guy who got him was stoked to get him there, and I don’t blame him. I see him as a mid/late 2nd with nice upside, but 1.08 is way, way too early IMO.

Then again, the fact that you’re taking Montgomery at 1.02 over Sanders (or Harry or Campbell, or even Metcalf or Deebo) leads me to believe that we have pretty different valuations of this class, so take my advice with the requisite grain of salt. If you genuinely believe that Henderson a top 10 talent, by all means, reach a little and get your guy.

You are certainly right especially when hearing all the different valuations for this class. I have heard that Montgomery and Sanders are so close and the tie-breaker for me is I’m a life long Bears fan. I know maybe I should also consider Harry at 1.2 but I really don’t need WRs at the moment, plus I been burned on “sure thing WR” in the past with Treadwell and now Davis.

We for reaching with Henderson, 1.08 is my last pick for 2019 so for me it was just to round out my draft with a future RB. Heck knowing my league mates (we are all friends), when we get together for the draft, I might be able to even trade 1.08 for a 2020 first straight up which would give me 3 next year.
