Team in signature. I need fresh eyes here. Is it realistic to think that a championship run can be accomplished with a big trade for a WR by shipping out 1.02 and 1.03? Or am I so weak at WR that I should eye 2020, and stay patient?
I'm talking to D. Adams owner, and I dangled 1.02 and 1.03, and think Freeman or Cook could sweeten it enough... all thoughts are welcomed.

Re: Run in 2019 or stay patient?
You need multiple wr options and a better TE to make a run. I dont think your picks can accomplish that. Keep building
Re: Run in 2019 or stay patient?
I'm assuming that is Royce and not Devonta...
I think with your RBs you are fine there and with your flex spots. As said above you could use a better TE and your WRs need lots of help.
I would suggest looking elsewhere than Adams. He is at peak value. Plenty of other WRs to target (since you need 2) that will come far cheaper.
Options:
1. Go after lesser WRs and a TE using picks and players
2. Draft your favorite rookie WRs with your picks.
3. Trade back to get more picks in this deep class and still draft WRs (since that is where they'll go, not at 1.2, 1.3....unless you feel your league starting requirements dictate WRs there)

Freeman is Devante, not Royce... also, no starting TE requirement.. although they can be used as a flex.
Green is available for a 2020 1st. Does Green + Adams paired with Zeke, Bell, Cook start to put this thing in motion, or is it still prudent to shooy for `20?

Devonta and no TE req (I missed that) changes things a LOT.
So, your lineup would be:
Cousins
Zeke, Bell
X, X
Devonta, Cook/Mack/Jones....
That's pretty nutty. I like AJG for a 2020 1st for sure. Do that regardless. Then package the RB you don't want and a pick for another WR. You'd still have one of your picks this year. Draft a WR, trade back for more picks, etc.

Just saw your update. I’d be looking to move Freeman, Jones, and one of your picks, for WR help and an upgrade at QB, potentially.
I’d target two WRs in the range of Allen, Cooks, and Thielen.

Just as you've laid it out, is what I was aiming to do... AJ Green is a done deal. Next up is the 1.02/3 with a RB for another WR. Thanks for seconding my thoughts. Looking at possibly Diggs plus Wentz/ Goff.Lumps wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 3:47 pm Devonta and no TE req (I missed that) changes things a LOT.

Looking at a QB upgrade at the moment, but feel the WRs are the priority... Goff/ Wentz are owned by one guy, as well as Diggs. Was looking at forming a package for Diggs + QB of his choosing, for 1.03 and a RB. But Freeman, Jones, plus pick might be the better move... you may be onto something there.

If you are competing you don't want to get rid of Freeman. They just drafted lineman and Coleman is gone. He's in line for a big year.

Re: Run in 2019 or stay patient?
Is Harry going to be there at 1.02? If so, you may want to keep building this year.
However, since you already sent next year's 1st for Green, you've stepped in the "all in" direction. Use those early picks separately to get two more competitive WRs and go for it.

Re: Run in 2019 or stay patient?
I know I will get screamed at for this, but a 2020 1st for Green is not a move I would even considering making.
He will be 31 when the season starts, very close to the age decline line and coming off a toe injury, which are slow healers.
They hired a first time head coach (risky). He was a spread the ball offense in LA and did not favor a stud.
I think Mixon is the guy they build their offense around, working off play action.
Tyler Boyd strikes me as the guy that will lead the team in targets or eating into Greens share at a noticeable amount.
And of course 2020 looks to be a monster at all positions other than TE.
I did not think your team had a chance this year. You built RB's first and neglected WR's. You would have finished near the top of the draft and could have really set yourself up as a dominate team for the next several years if you had been patient, used picked this year for WR depth, as so many B receivers ended up in A situations, and you could solve your TE problem with Hockinson who will give you immediate production with a big upside.
It would not take much for this run you want to do this year to blow up in your face given your depth at WR and ho hum qb. I wish you luck, but I think you took an unnecessary risk to go all in too early and cost yourself a possible dynasty.

Re: Run in 2019 or stay patient?
I appreciate hearing alternative thinking. We don't start a tight end. They are lumped into the flex spots, so unless it's an elite option like Ertz or Kelce, they just aren't used.The.Big.Spank wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 7:32 am I know I will get screamed at for this, but a 2020 1st for Green is not a move I would even considering making.

I do agree I'm taking on some risk with Green, but believe he has two top 10 WR years left.
I'm not a fan of Harry, or any of the first round WRs this year. I do agree that next year is the year to be loaded up on picks. My plan is to move the early picks seperately for a wr and a 2020 1st... ideally walking away with 2 startable WRs and two 2020 1sts for 1.02, 1.03.
I am nervous that I may be jumping the gun on making these moves one year too early though, and the reasons you listed are valid.
