Kerryon Johnson + Kittle for David J

Postby DallasCowboys » Sun May 05, 2019 12:23 pm

Give me some input on this trade package for David Johnson.

George Kittle,Kerryon, Jordan Reed or ASJ, and maybe Aaron Jones for David Johnson. I believe DJ gets 350 plus this year.

My team is
Luck
Barkley, Bell, KJ, AJ
OBJ, Adams, Pettis, Godwin, Mike Williams, A Miller
Reed, ASJ

Kittle, Kerryon and Jones is an overpay for Johnson. Reed and ASJ don't carry a ton of value to me but this is way too much.

I don’t mind overpaying for studs in a 10 team league. The real question is does my team get better if I start DJ and Reed or ASJ instead of Kerryon or AJ and Kittle

that's way too much imo. I would keep Kittle, your TE situation isn't great after him. I would try KJ, AJ and a TE for DJ or maybe try to get Mixon or Conner with that package.

I went after Mixon. Guy didn’t bite. Will try Connor next.
If I start reed and DJ. Will that be better than Kittle and KJ

I doubt it. DJ will probably give you a few PPG more than KJ, but Kittle will be several PPG higher than Reed

Big overpay. I think Kittle + 2nd = Johnson, or Jones + Kerryon = Johnson. No way I'd include all three.
Kittles Pox | Championships: 2015, 2017
12-Team PPR | QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, W/R/T, K, DST
QB: Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers
RB: Christian McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon, James Conner, Phillip Lindsay, Tevin Coleman, Boston Scott, Benny Snell Jr.
WR: Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Michael Gallup, Christian Kirk
TE: George Kittle, Travis Kelce | K: Younghoe Koo | DST: SF
PS: Mecole Hardman, Tony Pollard | 2020 Picks: 1.09, 2.10, 3.03 | 2021 Picks: 1st, 2nd

I wouldn't give a 2020 2nd on top of KJ to get DJ. Esp considering the age gap of all these players.

In a league of mine, DJ was moved for Kittle as the main center pieces.

I think you're way undervaluing KJ & Kittle.

Let me put something into perspective for you.

Last season Saquon Barkley scored 24.1 ppg and the RB12-14 in points per game last were LF, Marlon Mack, and Phillip Lindsay all hovering between 14.5-15ppg.

George Kittle scored 16.2 ppg last season where the TE12 (Kyle Rudolph) scored 9.5ppg. The difference between the top scoring RB in the league and the bottom RB1 vs Kittle (3rd and a TON of room to grow) and the 12th TE was only a 3 point positional advantage. Kelce/Ertz/Kittle are so undervalued its crazy. You're practically getting the positional advantage of an ELITE RB for half the price.

None of this takes into account that 1. Reed is worthless since being on the sideline doesn't get you any points, ASJ has never been fantasy relevant and is coming off 2 mediocre seasons. DJ is a stud and he proved that by miraculously finishing as a top 12 RB in that horrid offense but KJ wasn't THAT far behind him as a rookie who is poised to take on a much larger role. Not to mention you're trading 2 very young and promising players for a RB going on his age 27 season...RB's hit the cliff a lot sooner than WR and the cliff typically comes out of nowhere so I think it's dumb to overpay to get a RB in that age range unless its a complete steal of a trade.
