This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hardesty

Postby joeday » Fri May 20, 2011 10:50 am

What are everyone's thoughts on Hardesty? Does he recover and become a sleeper, or become a failboat?

Someone offered me Torain, K. Williams and a 4th for Hardesty and a 7th. Hardesty is currently my 3rd RB (see below) and I am curious with so many RBs in Washington if Torain would be an upgrade or not (both as a keeper and a plug in player)?

There is no way I would move Hardesty for Torain.

Yeah keep Hardesty. If you do feel the need to trade him, I'd go for the Peyton Hillis owner, that's the person who "should" offer up proper value.

I wouldnt trade hardesty before seeing what he could actually do in the league, His health concerns worry me a bit, but still worth holding onto and waiting

You probably already know this, but don't fool yourself into thinking you're getting the Redskins backfield, I fully believe that Torain will be the backup by midseason. Tell him you're not interested in Torain/Williams

Hardesty is the reason I wouldn't draft Hillis in any start-up draft. I think Hardesty has more talent than Hillis and will be, at minimum, a roughly 40 - 60 timeshare back with Hillis this year, overtaking him in 2012.

Hardesty might have the talent but can he stay healthy.
Besides the right ACL surgery, he underwent a left knee scope in 2006, had a high right ankle sprain in 2007, a stress fracture in his left foot in 2008, a right knee drain in 2009 and shoulder subluxation in 2009

When watching Hardesty run at Tenn, he makes big powerful one way cuts and burts through holes. that is most def gone after he shredded his knee. He will never run the same. but as Lavar Burton said,"Dont take my word for it!" go watch some tape, and see what you think bout his knee surgery after you see how he ran in college.

I'd be surprised if Hardesty ever has relevance barring a Hillis injury, even then he'll get injured again himself in short order.
