Shaheen for 2.08?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Shaheen for 2.08?

Postby M-Dub » Tue Apr 30, 2019 3:04 pm

Received an offer of 2.08 for my Shaheen. I know this is probably gonna be the 2.08 by a solid margin, but I really like Shaheen as a 3rd year breakout candidate. I think he’s a more complete TE than Burton and should at least get more of the red zone and goal line work this year.

Also, not sure how much difference it makes, but we also have a compensatory 1.13 pick for the toilet bowl winner, so this is more like the 2.09.

The final thing that gives me pause is that, even though it’s a long way away, this trade would put me in the position of not even being able to set a valid lineup in week 10. We can only start 4 WR, and with Ertz plus all my RBs except Mixon on bye that week, I’d have to start Shaheen and Everett that week. If I make this deal, I’d be forced to make a move for a viable RB or TE between now and then. I don’t see any RB or TE I get at 2.08 being too productive this year and was probably just gonna taxi them.

Sorry for such a long post on such a minor trade. Haha. Thoughts on this deal?

I personally would take the 2.08 at this point even in this class

I think you have to take the 2.8. Chicago continued to add offensive weapons. The TE position could be considered the 6/7th option...Shaheen isn't even the starter. If you have to land a TE later on, use a roster piece while adding the better value now.

I agree with your opinion with Shaheen possibly being a 3rd year breakout, but even in this class I would take the 2.08

I really like Shaheen, but I would make that trade... I have noticed McLaurin falling pretty far...
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris

2.08 for sure; you can’t count on a 3rd year tight end break out. There’s going to be a few intriguing players available at 2.08 who I would gladly taxi over having shaheen on my roster
Jake Fromm State Farm (12 team PPR SF)
QB: Purdy, ARich (TS), Levis (TS), Bagent, Hall, Rudolph, Fromm
RB: Roschon (TS), Allgeier, Hill, Demercado, McLaughlin, Mitchell, K. Harris, E. Wilson
WR: Addison, London, Jmo, Shaheed, Reed (TS), Pop D, Iosivas, C. Jones, Mooney, T. Palmer, Scott, Tucker, Austin, Gipson, Melton,
TE: Musgrave, Mayer (TS), Trautman, Gray, Jordan
2024: 1.01, 1.07, 2.04, 2.10, 2.11, 3.01, 3.06, 3.07, 3.11
2025: 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4

2.08 so easily. Why are you worrying about starting Shaheen in a week 10 bye right now?!!!!!! Take the value

So basically you already know the answer, but you want someone to assure you that holding Shaheen is the right call? This is the 2.08 easily for me, but if you really believe in Shaheen, there's nothing wrong with holding "your guy".

I just cut Shaheen to make room for the rookie draft
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts
