Gap between Kelce and H. Henry?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Gap between Kelce and H. Henry?

Postby kmbryant09 » Tue Apr 16, 2019 6:33 am

What's the gap between Kelce and Henry?

As a Kelce owner with a championship squad, is it worth pursuing Henry ++ or is it too risky and too much of a perceived downgrade?

I think the gap would be alot. Henry had one OK season for a rookie but he has the same value as about 5 other TEs, not including any of the 2019 rookies. Kelce is a locked in top 2 TE

Kelce will be 30 this season so moving him is at least worth considering. His value will only go down from here. (Though I'd rather pursue Howard over Henry.)

I would keep Kelce and go for a title. If you really want to sell him, I'd need 1.01 + Henry + more to sell.

Keeping Kelce as well in your situation, unless it's a huge overpay that you just can't resist.

So what's the actual gap?

Kelce = Henry + an early 1st?

Obviously Kelce is a monster, but Henry is 5 years younger and could see a huge value spike if he stays healthy.

At least an early 1st, if not more. Henry is all potential. We have yet to see a full season of production.

I would personally pursue Howard or Njoku over Henry, but to answer your question, i would value those TE's with a mid first and, in my opinion, Kelce is worth 3 1sts depending on the draft slot (if someone is willing to pay that), so it would take Howard/Njoku/Henry plus 2 1sts to move him. If it was a really high 2020 1st round pick, i could see taking a little less for the other draft pick. Again, just my humble opinion.
