Courtland Sutton Outlook?

Courtland Sutton Outlook?

Postby Phillies6f » Mon Apr 01, 2019 5:02 pm

Just curious what everyone feels Sutton’s prospects are for this year? As an owner I was honestly a little disappointed by his rookie season (not stats, but just watching him.)

What do you all think? What would you value him as?

Completely agree with the eye test, and the short answer is I have no idea what to expect. I gave up a good chunk for him and now I am a little concerned. He honestly got out played by Hamilton.

As an owner I'll be watching to see if Denver drafts a QB. Flacco hasn't supported a top WR in standard scoring in quite some time.

I'm more concerned with year 3 and 4. By then, hopefully Denver has a QB. I'm holding firm to Sutton now that I have him.

I thought for a rookie he was alright. He wasn't that far off in terms of production from Calvin Ridley who most of the dynasty community is ga-ga over. Yes, several touchdowns behind, but Ridley is in a much better offense and plays with Julio Jones. While DaeSean did outplay Sutton down the stretch, Keenum loves slot wide outs, so that wasn't too surprising.

Now, that being said, Flacco and the Denver offense doesn't excite me in the least bit. I love Sutton the prospect, but I don't care for this offense. As a previous poster stated, it'll be interesting to see if the Broncos take a QB in the first round.

So, I have no idea what to expect from Sutton this year, but my gut thinks he'll gradually improve. I don't see a big breakout coming this year.

This might have more to do with Baltimore's offensive philosophy than Flacco's ability in my opinion. Sutton should be just fine going forward.

I’m thinking about selling him if the right offer comes along.

What would you guys be targeting in return for him?

I definitely like him having Flacco instead of Keenum. I was a big fan of his coming out and am not moving off that after the one year.

All depends on what it cost to get him? I mean if you were lucky to grab him in the 2nd last year (he slipped in several drafts) and want to take him for a small profit then I think it is stupid, but go for it. If you drafted him with a first, why would you sell him at a loss? Just depends...

I got him at the beginning of the second. I’m not selling him at all costs. But I might put feelers out there to see what I can get. Just curious what people are thinking he is worth.

If you got him in the 2nd, then you aren't heavily invested, so you can look at it one of two ways. You can either take the single through the hole or swing for the fences. If you can sell him for a mid-1st and are happy with a small profit, then you can make the safe play. To me, if you draft a guy with his upside in the 2nd round, it is better to hold and hope you get a big profit.

So I have an offer for a likely 2020 top 3 pick (the owner has finished 1.1, 1.1, and 1.2) for Sutton and Coleman. Would you guys take that?
