Michael Gallup

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Michael Gallup

Postby megager » Sun Mar 31, 2019 4:02 am

Hi all.
I'd like to make an offer to the Michael Gallup owner. What would be a reasonable offer.
Would a pick be acceptable?
Thanks very much

honestly, the best way to answer this question is to ask the gallup owner. personally, I don't think I'd want to give up much more than the 2.06

I think an early 2nd is a fair price for Gallup at this point but I would guess the Gallup owner thinks he has first round value.

I was thinking the 2.06 alright but that was turned down. I don't want to go much higher, I'd add players but really, Cole, adams unlikely to move needle imo. I'd prefer hold djax for the spot flex play next year or two and have Gallup behind Robby, Miller...maybe Coutee but I want to keep him as I think he's going to feature

I just traded a 2020 2nd for him a week ago, if that helps. And it should (hopefully) be a late pick. I hate giving up future picks, but I thought it was worth it.

This.
I don't think many have a first round value on Gallup, but he was picked in the early to mid 2nd last year, so it comes down to not wanting to flip him for the same dart throw a year later. To the OP, who are you going to pick at 2.06? You will most likely get a worse prospect and have to wait an extra year to have him develop. It's not a terrible offer, but it would be an easy decline imo.

I think Gallup was far more impressive than his stats showed, especially after the Cowboys traded for Cooper. Maybe his connection with Dak will always suffer because Dak's deep ball isn't great, but I can't remember how many times Dak missed a wide open Gallup down the sideline.

I agree with this. I think Gallup is a better IRL player than he will probably ever be in fantasy, because of a couple reasons, mainly the run-oriented offense the Cowboys will run and then of course, Cooper will get the most targets in the passing game, plus Zeke, the TEs, etc. It’s just going to be hard for him to ever get enough targets to be a strong play in fantasy.

The 2.06 was declined. I wasn't sure if adding Cole and Adams together to the 2.06 would be worth offering. I have the 1.05 but I don't think Gallup is worth that. At 2.06....hard to know who will get there

Given his adp was early 2nd last year, I believe the value has only increased and he has shown some flashes of strong talent last season. I wouldn't pay a 1st for him though so maybe you can toss djax out there for him. Miller and 2.6 for Gallup would most likely do it for me.

Cool. Thanks for that. At this stage I think I prefer Miller but will think about it

He was going early 2nd last year and had a decent year last year. I like him and think he could have WR2 consistency, however, I would not give a First for him. He's a throw in guy to compliment a bigger trade.

I think Miller and 2.06 is too much.. I don't think adding Adams or Cole will change anything...
so, a week ago, you could have thrown Baldwin in the deal...but that window has closed..
if you think your 3rd round pick will be late, perhaps throw in a 2020 3rd round pick... or KeKe/ and ask for a 3rd back in the deal
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc

Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
