Is there such thing as too much for Hopkins?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is there such thing as too much for Hopkins?

Postby Kmani6 » Sat Mar 30, 2019 1:28 pm

I'm competing this year and my team is below, but I lack a true WR1. I was considering trading Cooper, 2020 1.5, 2020 1.10, and 2x 2020 2nd's for Hopkins. Is this to much for a very competitive team?

I think moving Cooper hurts your WR's a bit. I personally would look to move D. Cook and a couple 1st round picks and see where that goes in getting Hopkins. Some owners are still very high on Cook.

I would agree, I’m high on Cooper. If you are wanting a bigger WR then I would use your RB depth. Move lettuce legs Cook on

I offered Cooper and Bell and the guy seemed to think I was robbing him and wouldn't even bother with a counter.

I would probably move on. That will end up being a very expensive deal to get Hopkins and it could set your team back

Well first things first. Is the guy rebuilding or is he competing. If it's a rebuild the trade #1 looked pretty good. If competing then you need more than Cooper and Bell imo. I wouldn't sell Hopkins for that in a 10 team league

Why chase Hopkins?

Go after Diggs, AJG, Thielen, or Hilton for a stud

Kupp, Edelman, or Marvin Jones are good targets for depth.

I like the trade for a 10 team league.
12 Team - PPR - 30man (2 IR) - 6pt PPTD- 1 QB - 2 RB - 2 WR - 1 Flex - 1 TE
QB: Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, Anthony Richardson, Aidan O'Connell
RB: McCaffrey, Jacobs, Barkley, Zamir White, Jaleel McLaughlin, Dowdle, Zach Evans, Dobbins
WR: AJB, London, Aiyuk, Diontae Johnson, Rashee Rice, Ridley, McLaurin, Dotson, Rashod Bateman
TE: Mandrews, Pitts, Likely, Otton

2024: 1.01, 1.07
2025: 3x 1st
Champ: 2020, 2021
Year 9 of my league

Agree with many here that it's simply foolish to go after Hopkins when he won't even consider bell and cooper. I've repeatedly stated that most owners far over value studs. You can't give up your whole team for Hopkins. Diggs and Golladay are great targets. And quite frankly I wouldn't even trade cooper and bell for Hopkins
22-man, 12-team, 1 pt-PPR; Start 1-2RB; 3-4 WR; 1-2 TE

TEAM 1
QB: Prescott, Foles
RB: Barkley, P Barber, Duke, Gio Bernard, Gus, C Thompson, Breida, Ekeler
WR: A Cooper, Cooks, Lockett, C. Davis, Crowder, Chark, Stills
TE: OJ Howard

If I can sell Cooper plus a few draft picks for a stud like Hopkins, I'm all in. Cooper to me is overrated.
2018 finish: WR # 18,
2017 finish: WR # 45,
2016 finish: WR # 15
In PPR formats he has not finished above WR 15 in 3 years, yet hes going off the board at WR 10? ADP of 21? I get that new life in Dallas should help him, and hes younger, but hes a high end WR2 in my book.

2 BIG games in Dallas 18/397/5 = 87.7 FPTS! 43.85 per game
remaining 6: 35/327/1 = 73.7 FPS 10.5 pts per game.

Weeks 9-16: Cooper was the 6th overall WR. Hopkins was 9th overall. Hopkins also had his bye during this time, and Cooper had 11 more fantasy points during these weeks.

Not trying to completely bash him, as those BOOM games are monsters, and more than likely week winning performances just that I would for sure sell him to get Hopkins.
Also, not sure on how you know where your 2020 1st is, but if it's that late, I'm good pairing it.
Team 1: 12T PPR SF no premiums, 4pt TDs
QB(1-2) Herbert, Tua
WR(3-5) AJB, Adams, Sutton, Boyd, Bourne, Wicks
RB(2-4) JT, Kyren, Swift, Singletary, Moss, Ford Dobbins, Tucker
TE(1-3) Hock, Jonnu, Kmet, Kraft
3.06, 3.09

Team 2: 12T PPR, TE premium, SF
QB(1-2) Cousins, Love, Tanny, Trask, McCoy, Zappe
WR(2-6) Lamb, Olave, Hollywood, Godwin, JaMo, Sutton, Diontae, Lazard, McKensie
RB(2-6) ETN, A. Jones, Dillon, Hunt, Moss, K. Miller, S. Tucker
TE(1-5) Hock, Brock Wright, Everett

Team 3: 12T PPR SF TE Prem

That,s funny because I actually had AJG, then moved him :( I traded AJG + OJ Howard for George Kittle and 2 2020 2nds. I liked the deal because I think the niners offense is gonna get better next year and kittle will be valued extremely high, whereas AJG has been so injury prone the last 3 years + getting older, and although I love OJ Howard arians doesn’t use TEs that much/haven’t seen a full season from him yet. Anyways I might try targeting T.Y. Hilton and diggs as I may be able to get them cheaper than guys like Thielan/golladay (my league specifically). If not I could rework the Hopkins deals. To put it in perspective I offered the same deal to the Adams/MT/and OBJ owners and they all refused.

As said above, you should really be looking to move some of your RB depth for a WR. Try Gurley for Nuk or OBJ straight up
