This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Postby timtebow420 » Thu Mar 21, 2019 4:51 pm

Side 1 - Danielle Hunter , 2.01, 3.01

Side 2 - Darius Leonard

pretty balanced scoring. which side would you prefer, and how close, or not close, are they?

The picks are on the wrong side of this thing for sure.

On paper I'd agree, i'm just admittiedly not super familiar with Hunter's game. For sure liked his numbers this season and his age is great too. Do you think Hunter is a pretty trusty stud for the next 3-4 years?

I'm sure leonards tackle numbers will regress some this year, but still pretty confident he'll be a top tier LB1.

Being not super familiar with Hunter made it kind of tough to come up with a decent offer.

Leonard. Always go with the stud LB. Depending on scoring they can be some of your highest.

RB: Achane, Gibson, Dillon, Sanders
WR: Jefferson, Lamb, G Wilson, Rice, JSN, Burks

QB: Stafford, Fields
RB: Gibbs, Singletary, Dallas, Juszczyk

The difference between the #5 LB & the #25 LB is minimal.

Now compare the difference between the #5 DL to the #25 LB.

Unless Leonard posts 150 combined tackles (which he may do for a few years) AND 6-8 sacks per year (which he will not do. That is a fluke), you will want the stud DE by a wide margin. Much harder to replace that production coming out of the DL slot.

Guess it depends on how your scoring is. In my IDP league:

Leonard- 277 Total Points, 111 Tackles, 7 Sacks

Hunter- 174 Total Points, 51 Tackles, 14.5 Sacks

Like I said, I’ll take the stud LB
12 Team 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1Flex, 5IDP
QB: Rodgers, Love
RB: Achane, Gibson, Dillon, Sanders
WR: Jefferson, Lamb, G Wilson, Rice, JSN, Burks

2024 Picks: 1.04, 1.05, 1.11

16 Team 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex

I’m taking Hunter pretty easily here. Leonard’s stats are not repeatable, while Hunter is equally young and an elite DL (which I’ll take over LB, which are more replaceable). Toss in the picks to add ammo to your roster and it becomes easy. Straight up or with the 3rd I could debate, but not with the extra 2nd.

That and Lukky is an IDP boss.

If your scoring no starting requirements are unbalanced, perhaps you could debate, but don’t expect Leonard to ever repeat that stat line

In my league and scoring give me Hunter and the picks (we give premium for sacks). With that said hard to make the call as i dont know your scoring or roster... Also cannot tell which one you are getting... do you have a real need for one with depth to make up for a loss?

Decently balanced, Leonard scored about 100 pts more than hunter, but he is for sure due for regression. I'm the Leonard owner. Decently deep at LB and pretty barren at DE. I was just tryin to see how far off or close I was. My whole thing was I'm admittedly pretty unfamiliar with Hunter's game. I'm pretty confident in Leonard being an LB1 (not THE) for a good 3-4 years at least, but wasn't sure on Hunter.

I have hunter. More depth at LB, DE depth falls off cliff early and hunter is stud. And 2.01 is easily best IDP guy in draft. Trade back and still get white or Bush depending on landing spot.
