This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

TY Hilton

Postby Never Veto1 » Thu Mar 21, 2019 8:33 am

Does he have the plague or something cause I'm having a heck of a time trading him. Maybe I'm viewing him to high. What's his value. I was thinking he should be a least a mid to higher 1st, or a late 1st + 2020 1st. Am I crazy cause I just can't figure it out.

His value has always been lower than his production for some reason. The fact that you're trying to move him for even a mid 1st kind of proves that point. Just hang onto him and enjoy the fantasy points.

I would not sell Hilton for a mid 1st. He's a classic hold case for me.

I would normally do that, and I might just have to, but my team still needs some work after it fell apart last year.

You'll probably get better offers during the season once he's producing and reminding other owners of how good he is.

People are scared off by his age I think (plus they penalize him for the time without Luck) He's a hold for sure, if not buy low IMO

I think there's a major disconnect between WR's real trade value vs what people value them as on this board. Go try trading AJG/TY/Julio/AB for anything of what people value them as on the forum and you'll have a very difficult time, people's appeal of getting a top WR is the longer career production, a 30 year old WR loses a lot of that appeal and their trade value is almost tanked even though 2-3 years of WR1 production is worth a heck of a lot more than a mid 1st round pick.

I tried selling him for a 2020 first last season and not a single person was interested.

Classic underrated player that produces very well. I would not move him for a mid 1st.

I agree that you need to do something, but trading TY for little value is not going to help you. Your team isn't bad enough to tank, so might as well keep TY and enjoy now that Luck is back. Try to trade him after he goes off for 150 and 2 TDs

I've literally been working on trying to get a fair deal for him since posting this and the best I've seen is 2020 1st and the 3.14 pick this year. Maybe it's just the league I'm in but it feels like Hilton has the plague. I get that he is going to be 30 but I also feel he'll still have 2-3 good years left. It's not like he's completely reliant on speed.

best advice would be to hold him for now, let him produce, and then sell him for some rookie WR and/or picks during the season to a contender.

I just offered 1.12, Jordan Howard, Winston for T.Y. + 2.06 in a 1-QB league. I'd be receiving T.Y. and am a win now team (I won the league last year). I'd take it if he dropped the 2.06 pretty easily. Doubt he takes it either way, but let's test the T.Y. trade value theory!
