Superflex Foles for AJG?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Superflex Foles for AJG?

Postby dmac37 » Sat Mar 16, 2019 12:26 pm

With Foles now having a starting job in Jax what is his worth in Superflex. There is a team without a starting QB looking for one, can Foles land AJG for a team desperate for a QB in Superflex? I have a bunch of young WR's (2nd team in sig), would like to get 2-3 years out of AJG until a couple of the young guys emerge.

This would also leave me with only 2 QB's.

If they don’t have a starting QB you could probably get AJG for Foles. If he did have a QB, no way. Throw a 3rd on Foles to get it done

By a landslide AJG is more valuable. Rebuilding or contending I would rather have AJG. Foles is a mediocre QB who looked ok in a good situation. Now he goes to an awful situation in JAX, and his value improves because he is a starting QB. JAX is making the same mistake they made when they dropped a huge contract on Bortles. Foles has had the same inconsistent play as Bortles. Would you have traded AJG last year for Bortles? Bortles was a starting QB, so he must be super valuable yes?

AJG can return a much better QB than Foles, even if the AJG owner has to add something else. If you are lucky, Foles may get you value equal to an early 2nd/late 1st depending on league size.

That being said, I think he is more valuable to your team as a 3rd QB.

Thanks for all the input, still trying to figure out the value of QB's in a superflex. May still offer the trade to get a feel and be willing to add more if need be as his team has no chance right now with no QB.

I like having 3 QBs in SF (see Panthers below). That said, Foles's value will probably never be higher than it is right now, so I would look to trade him. See if you can get a pick with Green first, then I would "settle" for Green if the answer was no. I would look to trade for or draft that 3rd QB, but I'd rather see one better than Foles. Maybe you could target someone with a few young QBs and add a little piece to Foles for one of them, if your opponent likes the JAX situation.
