Re: Ingram, Jones or Green??
Wes Bunting just tweeted that he thinks Ingram can be a 1,300 + yard and 10+ TD guy in the Saints offense, NFL ready from day one, rookie of the year.
I don't see how he's wrong. I would take Ingram No. 1

Post draft: Ingram 1.1 Very excited!
This is my feeling as well. However, just for the rookie season I would temper expectations to be more around 1,000 yards and 8 TDs.
After that, I would expect 1,300+ yards and double digit TDs to be a regular season for Ingram.

Re: Ingram, Jones or Green??
Top 3 picks of the 2003 NFL Draft:
1 1 Cincinnati Bengals Palmer, CarsonCarson Palmer† QB USC Pac-10 2002 Heisman Trophy winner [N 1]; pre-signed [N 2]
1 2 Detroit Lions Rogers, CharlesCharles Rogers WR Michigan State Big Ten
1 3 Houston Texans Johnson, AndreAndre Johnson† WR Miami (FL) Big East
Although we now know who went on to greatness & who didn't, back in May 1st of 2003, I bet people were torn between who to select, Rogers or Andre. This just goes to show that ANYTHING can happen.
Same with this year, AJ Green & Julio Jones.....anything can happen. Julio could very well be the star receiver, and AJ could get derailed somewhere along the way.
I really like Julio's situation though, that was a big price to pay for him, I think they'll do whatever they can to feature him. Matt Ryan also seems to have almost a decade more of solid QB production, can't say the same about the Bangles.
Tough choice for me, almost a coin flip between AJ & Julio.

Re: Ingram, Jones or Green??
A 2 down back as well as short yardage and goal line back in a high powered offense.. Then add in that he will catch a ton of passes.. Not sure how you can use the "2 down back" as a negative in this case..thewhyterabbit wrote:im feeling that ingram will only be a two down back in NO... reggie bush is still there.

Re: Ingram, Jones or Green??
I'm sorry but watching Julio drop way too many easy catches, I do not want any piece of him with Green still available. Plus Julio is fighting for catches from Roddy White. Green's talent will win out in the long run.cleanwillyb wrote:You make valid points, but I'm willing to bet that anyone taking Jones before Green will make the owner picking after them very happy.jordanzs wrote:...Tough choice for me, almost a coin flip between AJ & Julio.
Re: Ingram, Jones or Green??
I watched all the Alabama games and yes he dropped some easy passes not way too many. Either way you won't go wrong with Jones or Green. Jones has a much better place to be playing right now. Let's see Green was suspended for selling his jersey (dare I say character issue) and going to the Bungles along with the rest of the church choir.grimace wrote:I'm sorry but watching Julio drop way too many easy catches, I do not want any piece of him with Green still available. Are you people actually suggesting that Ingram would get snaps in passing situations over reggie bush? thats literally the one thing that reggie the mondo-bust is actually good at

Re: Ingram, Jones or Green??
Yeah IF Bush is still there I don't think anyone is arguing that he would be the 3rd down back.. Even as a 2 down/goal line back Ingram is the #1 pick now IMO.. Also here was the tweet that Reggie Bush made after the draft..49ersFaithful80 wrote:Are you people actually suggesting that Ingram would get snaps in passing situations over reggie bush? thats literally the one thing that reggie the mondo-bust is actually good at
