Dealing pick 3

I currently have the 3rd pick in this year's draft. The market for acquiring players is a bit absurd in this league at the moment, so I'm fielding offers for pick 3 to see what's out there. Welcoming thoughts on the following return or what a good return would be. Team in sig.

Give:
1.03

Get:
3.10
Proj mid 2020 1st
Proj late 2020 1st

I don't hate it... you should be a contender and can deal the 1sts later on in the season. But keep in mind, value of 1.03 only goes up from now.... you could easy hold and get a similar or even better offer later on

I would hold. The best offers for the 1.03 will not come until after the actual NFL Draft.

Yeah I would hold as well and let the predraft hype get rolling. If you can turn the 1.03 this year into the 1.03 next year + a 1st that would be a steal though

Wait for me too. The value of picks for 2019 will only go up from now until the draft.

If you want to sell look to do it after something like the combine where some guy balls out (remember the hype for John Ross a few years ago when he broke the 40 time?!) or the actual NFL draft.

I'll dissent: This is a snap-accept.

We all get caught up looking for the perfect deal, often so much so that we pass on a great one staring right at us. 1.03 does FAR* less to help a competitive team than TWO first-round picks one year later in a projected better class. You then have two large in-season bullets to upgrade your team if need be. And, if not, then you have two first-round picks in a likely-loaded 2020 draft class! That is what would/could secure a dynasty.

*You know your league. Maybe 1.03 would get you a top-15 WR (like Hilton, whom you have, for instance), or maybe 1.03 and, say, Miller would get you Mixon. But, unless you are extremely confident that something like that is doable (and I would doubt it), then I would grab the two-for-one deal ASAP.

I am just going to play devils advocate here. You are giving up a known high pick for a hopeful high pick. I see it too many times a bad team gets lucky and all of a sudden your mid pick you project turns into the 1.10. So you could be selling the 1.03 2 late picks. Better draft class rarely means late picks are worth top end talent. Just because there is not a 1.01 doesn't mean we dont have a bunch of Mixon/Guice/Micheal (I know WR) kind of players.

With that being said it is nice to spread out the risk over 2 picks. The 1.03 is just a little high for me to spread it out over who knows what. You pretty much have to have 1 turn into the 1.05 or 6 if the the other is 1.10 or later.

I'd jump on it. Whether or not next year's class really will be excellent we don't yet know. That they will be seen as such for a period of time during which you can sell high on those picks is certain.
