Drake for Lindsay?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Drake for Lindsay?

Postby DynastyDeepDive » Tue Jan 08, 2019 4:24 am

I want to target Drake as a buy low candidate. I think Gase sucks and totally misused this backfield this year. I also want to sell high on Lindsay as I believe he's a one year wonder and with a new staff coming in and Freeman's draft stock thinking of offering him for Drake and another piece.

Drake has always looked good when given the carries. Plus he's a free agent in 2020 and could land in a nice new opportunity.

Should I do it?

I would sell higher than that. I would target someone more established than Drake. Lindsay's name value is high now, and could be highest its even been. I just don't see a 5 foot 8 180 lb running back making it very long, What about someone like Mixon, or David Johnson if his owner is sour on him?

or go for a Tier 2 WR. Kupp, Woods, Diggs, someone like that

I dealt Lindsay for Corey Davis back in like week 5 for whatever that's worth. Not sure how I feel about that deal now, but as far as value goes that's an idea.

I think it's fine to try and sell high on Lindsay, but I'd say Lindsay = Drake + early 2nd. I definitely wouldn't do it straight up.

You need a bona fide WR1. Moore could definitely ascend this year but are you really that confident in either Tennesse (corey davis) or Carolina's offense producing a consistent WR1 week in and out.
All teams settings:
NON-Superflex, Full PPR, Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2FLEX

10 Team
QB: Rodgers, Tannehil, Lance
RB: Cook, Chubb, Taylor, Hunt, Drake, Davis, Mattison, Penny
WR: MT, Nuk, Evans, Hill, Sutton, D. Smith, OBJ, E Moore, Renfrow
TE: Kittle, Schultz, Higbee, Njoku
22: 3rd, 4th
23: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
24: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

12 team
QB: Ryan, Hurts
RB: Taylor, Mixon, Henderson, Bernard, Michel, Mcnichols
WR: DJM, Sutton, Thielen, Gallup, OBJ, Toney, Kirk, Mims, Harry, Slayton
TE: Kittle, Pitts

22: 2nd, 3rd, 4th
23: 1st, 3rd (x2), 4th
24: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

12 Team
QB: Jackson, Mayfield

Depends on what the + is. I'd probably want something decent on top of Drake.

In a deal for Lindsay, Drake should BE the +, not the main piece on the other side.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5

I have Lindsay and I wouldn't take Drake for him. We have no idea how the new coaching staff will use him, or if they'll turn things over to Kalen Ballage.

I don't think Booker will be a factor. There will probably be some regression with Lindsay but even if it's a 50/50 split I think Lindsay will be a stud. I saw a lot of explosiveness from him.

The suggested trade was a bit of a head scratcher as I agree with this take. Lindsay is someone I'd be selling, but not for Drake. I took a lot of criticism for my position this past off season regarding Drake and Gore and was dead on right. I predicted then a full time share with Gore the most likely to lead the backfield in carries with Miami going after the starter in 2019. I'm sticking with that. Nothing I saw this season leads me to believe that Drake has the skill set of a full time starter.
